Unfortunately, even though the burgers are more delicious at this location-they frequently can’t understand what you’re saying because they don’t speak English, or they pretend like they don’t understand, only to charge you more.
On 4 separate occasions I’ve been charged for extra items when I have a coupon. Today-even though I’m the only person in my car and the screen only showed one set of fries-I told them I had a coupon and so the fries should be free. I said this to them many times. Somehow this evolved into them thinking I’m asking for 2 orders of fries, which I only noticed when I got home. So they did charge me for fries, and gave me an extra for free that I did not need and did not ask for instead of applying the coupon properly and hearing what I was saying.
The person at the drive through-Taxil-also didn’t give me my receipt, probably to hide the fact that he didn’t ask for or apply the coupon properly until after I paid, and then asked to scan it after I paid which made no sense. Like I said, at this point I confirmed-“so you didn’t charge me for fries right?” To which he lied and said “No,no!” And then didn’t hand me my receipt, which isn’t the norm as the receipt is normally taped to the bag. I’m assuming he was trying to hide his lie and mistake and overcharging me instead of being honest and giving me a refund?
This has happened 4 times in different ways and with different people over the course of months at this location, and each time I mention and confirm they haven’t charged me for the thing that was supposed to have a coupon-and then they lie…then I find later they’ve charged me. I mentioned it once and the guy was like “oh sorry, nothing we can do about it now.”
It seems sort of seems scammy and unethical, and always under then pretense that they made a mistake by accident, and at this point I don’t believe your workers anymore.
If it happened once, okay…twice, maybe, but 4 times? Not okay. Liars and very scammy. I will be calling the manager at this location and asking for compensation as each coupon was worth at least $4.
On top of the above…the fries were cold and not salted...
Read moreI visited this Barrie location on Cundles, this past Tuesday, February 28, 2023, at about 7:30 pm (check the cameras, the proof is there!!). I ordered 2 combo meals and mine was a Beyond Meat burger combo. One of the employees behind the counter poured the soft drinks and as she was placing them on the counter, one of them turned over and spilled a bit, the lid and the cup were wet, but she picked it up and left it there, cleaned the counter around it a bit. I remember saying to myself, "I really hope those aren't ours because that's gross, I don't know what's been on that counter or who's been touching it with their bare unwashed hands, etc."
Anyway, when I realized that drink was actually mine, I asked the person that poured it to re-pour the drink for me in a clean cup. She didn't take too kindly to the request, but she did it. A couple of minutes later, I see the employee working the grill, aggressively toss a fully cooked patty in the garbage behind her. A bit after that my order was ready. I waited until I got home to eat the burger and, as I'm sure you've already guessed, there was a RAW BEYOND MEAT PATTY BETWEEN THE BUNS!!!
If they felt it was ok to respond to me in that way, then the employees at this location aren't even worth arguing with, who knows what they'd do. God forbid I ate meat, would I have been served a raw beef patty for speaking up?
And to the person in charge there that seemed to be as consoling the employee after I must have hurt her feelings for asking her to do her job, you are just as complicit. Tell me you didn't like my tone, curse me out after I leave, but don't put my health in danger like that because I complained about something you did wrong....
Read moreI feel this is very important to share. Earlier this week, I had went inside for take out, I ordered two meals for myself and my partner. Service was a bit slow but that was okay, as I stood there waiting, I observed 3 meals made before mines and I also watched mine (the fourth meal) be made. I was shocked to see that no one in the food handling facility was wearing gloves. The line cooks, (2 females and one male) that were visible from my point of view, each were touching all 4 meals, with their uncovered hands. I seen a female in particular who was dressing the burgers customers had ordered, and using her bare hands to touch the cheese, lettuce, the buns and wrapping the burger in its seal. I was so shocked. This exact employee even was using her exposed hands to touch the buns baking in the warmer rather than using proper tongs/PPE to get the buns out the hot warmer. She was clearly patting the bread feeling to see if it was warm and then proceeded to take the buns out with her exposed hands. It’s clear that they made a choice to wear no gloves nor-uphold cleanly practices during their work stations. Hoping this can seek attention as basic food safety measures aren’t being taken. The owner or team representative, needs to ensure their workers are protected and have these things in place actually being done, not just provided to them. Please re train your staff on proper food handling and...
