My wife and I have eaten at every breakfast place in Barrie and this is our absolute favorite by far.
We’ve eaten here at least once every weekend for the past year and have never had a bad experience.
Sure it gets busy and sometimes you have to wait for a table. If you’ve had to wait for a table then anyone in the biz will tell you that’s a good thing. If you don’t want to wait then leave.
The staff are always very attentive and friendly. Owner works the tables and is always available for input whether good or bad. Don’t hide behind your review … approach her and speak face to face. I assure you she takes all comments seriously.
Now for the food. My wife and I get the same menu items every time. My food came and it was hot and fresh, I had to let it cool down. Portions are big and always satisfying. Always served with a smile and some friendly chit chat. Tea and coffee always refilled without even asking.
There are many moving parts to operating a kitchen in a restaurant. If one of those parts is missing, it really affects the operation as a whole. You might have to wait a bit longer or they my make an error with your order. It nothing to get upset about. Treat people as you’d expect to be treated and it’ll all be ok. If that was YOUR child, would you want a grown man yelling at them because he didn’t like the jam he got?
All in all, we love this place and all the staff are great. Food quality is excellent and the place is neat and tidy. Some of these “complaints” in the reviews on here are ridiculous. If only we could all be perfect in our lives and/or chosen careers.
You should expect to wait if you come on Saturday or Sunday during prime breakfast hours. That means people are coming back because they enjoy the experience here.
If you don’t want to wait … leave. It’s not the staff’s fault...
Read moreI was so excited to go to this location with my friends! a group of 9 people were planning on going to the restaurant to celebrate my friend who was leaving abroad for the next 6 months. I called the day before to check if we were able to make reservations. The person who answered the phone assured me that if we called 15 minutes prior to our arrival we would be able to have a table ready for us. When I called the day of I was asked if I was the reservation at 12:00, because he did not take my name the day prior and we had said we were planning on being there for 11, I said I didn't think it was us. I was spoken rudely to on the phone. I was polite and said it was ok if we had to wait as the waitress expressed that they were busy. When we arrived at the restaurant we were talked down to by the staff (we are students but were very polite, but were spoken to as if we were lesser than everyone else). We waited about 40 minutes to order, and almost as long to get our food. There were mistakes with our drinks, our food (my friend didn't receive her fruit until after we had all finished eating.). Throughout the meal the wait staff made it quite clear that they were unimpressed by the fact that there was confusion about the reservation. one waitress had even gone as far as to say to the group "you should't ask him to plan anything again" which Is an interesting way to address the restaurants mistake. Read moreMy first visit. Very disappointing. I don’t care about the opinions of others, only the opinions of the owner/operator of this franchise. The host seated my family next to the main door. I asked to be seated deeper into the restaurant. She sighed passive aggressively. And seated us at a dirty table. It was then wiped by a different person. The food was excellent and the presentation was excellent. Our food arrived pretty quickly, without cutlery or napkins. I asked the server for cutlery, and she brought us 3 sets of cutlery wrapped in one napkin. (One napkin).. I had to get up and ask for more napkins. Another passive aggressive sigh from the same person who sat us. We also we not offered any refills on beverages. The atmosphere was less then optimal. The music was very loud and so were the guests. I won’t be returning here as there are many better and cheaper options locally. I also do not want to hear from ownership and management. I do not wish for coupons or free meals, as this is not the purpose of my review. I would however like management to couch the staff on the deficiencies as previously mentioned.
