Burger Royal has been my go to burger spot for a couple years now and I’ve not had a bad burger yet. I’ve tried the classics like the royale with cheese and the picante rey and I’ve also tried many sides like the señor tempura onion rings, sir wedge salad and most recently tots royale. I’m also a fan of their duke buttermilk chicken tenders and I often order those as a side with my burger.
I’ve tried a few of their monthly features and that’s how the burg mock became my favourite burger. The burg mock is two all-beef patties, cheddar cheese, lettuce, onion, deep fried pickles and mock sauce. It’s everything I want my burger to be and it’s just perfect.
You can taste the quality with every bite and every new menu item is careful thought out. Even the buns they use from @foxsbakeryanddeli are a great fit because they hold up the whole time you are eating your burger.
My only complaint is their fries. They are never consistently good for some reason and the inside of the fry is incredibly dry. They get their potatoes from a farmer they work with directly so it’s not an issue with potato quality.
I believe they changed the pickles they originally used because myself and others noticed a change in flavour but we seem to have almost forgotten since the good outweighs the crusty with this eatery.
Burger Royal is the only burger I want to eat in the Barrie area and you won’t be disappointed. I’d just skip the combo and forgo the fries.

Read moreListen, I don't know who is writing all these great reviews of the place. But I had wanted to check this place out for a while now (based on these great reviews people were writing...) I convinced my wife to try it out as our "Weekend Dinner Out Treat". Well there are only three of us, we all got the Burger Royale I think it was called. Essentially a Cheeseburger with your standard toppings. We also splurged and got Milk Shakes, Two Large and 1 Small as they do not have a Medium size. OK, so the burgers although were tasty. The meat inside was what I would be comparable with a single 5oz patty r. It was almost lost in the bun. The fries although appeared hand cut, I must have came at the wrong time because the majority of fries in my bag were all the scrunchies (you know the ones that normally you don't eat, hard, soaked in oil as to appear a darker shade of brown, and are the small bits that don't get picked up until the last scoops). The milkshakes were nothing special, in fact I was astonished to see the only difference between the Large and Small was about 1cm in Cup Size (For $1 more of course). All in all, I came out less $53 (jeez, when did buying burgers for three, amount to having to work 4 hours at minimum wage? Save yourself the money and go to Wendy's or Barrie Burger. You will...
Read moreBurger Royal does have really good food. I will give them that. But their service is terrible. I went in the other day and was told my burger would be 10-15 mins and it took them 28 mins to make just a cheese burger!!! Nothing else!! This isn’t the first time this has happened. This has probably happened 4 or 5 times over the last 7 times I have stopped in. Those are terrible averages. They only had 3 ppl working and they were clearly under staffed for being around dinner time. Not to mention there was no fifth gear they were all stuck in first gear. No hustle, just dragging their feet. It was sad to watch how slow they were for how busy they were. It was painful to watch. They clearly don’t care about customer service. I feel like when ever I decide to give them another shot its the same disappointment. Burger Royal is making it much easier to not go there even though they have good food, they really lack in the service part. Great food is nothing without proper and professional service!! I hope they can get their...
