Hot Wok Chinese Restaurant — Restaurant in Barrie

I recently ordered from here for the first time ten minutes after receiving the order I called the store with no response so I called there driver to notified them I was unhappy with my order I tried a little bit to see if I liked it but was unhappy with the appearance and taste of the order the chicken wings still had feathers on them and food was saturated with grease the driver told they were closed Mondays so I could call back Tuesday for a refund which I did and was told as long as half the order was there they would refund my money as long as I brought it in I explained to them I don't drive and I'm crippled up with a major back injury and don't drive she told if I didn't bring it in they wouldn't do anything for me so I had a relative come and pick me up and help me take the stuff back to the store I returned 95 percent of the food that was ordered and when I got there I carried it all back in which was quite a big chore as I'm forced walk with a cane only to find out after ordering 89 dollars in food I was only given 60 dollar refund and told take it or leave it I felt this was rediculous after explaining my physical condition and ordering it as a delivery they still chose to force me to come out and do their leg work after being treating this way and seeing the very poor quality of food I was given and the fact that they obviously don't stand behind the quality of their food and don't care about the circumstances dealt to there customers I definately won't be ordering from this restaurant again and suggest you don't waste your time as they have wasted mine as they stood and yelled at me for half an hour so after paying 89 dollars and have a 6 dollar tip so 95 dollars I was refunded 60 dollars and told take it or leave it but returned 95 percent of the food I feel I have been ripped off 35 dollars food greasy and tastes...

Unfortunately this restaurant fell below expectations. We ordered the Shanghai noodles and beef ho feng (flat noodles). The Shanghai noodles arrived dressed in a bright red sauce, either a version of their sweet and sour sauce or pad Thai sauce. There were strips of BBQ pork mixed in that tasted off (like plastic?). The flat noodles were better but not the same as what I would expect in ordering beef ho fun a Chinese restaurant. We dined in but were informed that even so the food would be served in take out containers. The food came in aluminium round containers with clear plastic lids, but there were no receptacles for recycling. Everything we used went in the garbage :( Lastly, the restaurant sign advertises that there is dim sum on offer. A couple came in after is looking for fun sum and were informed by the hostess that the menu was limited. Indeed, there are five dim sum items on the menu and they are relatively pricey ($4-6). We didn't try this part of the menu, but it's too bad that Barrie does not yet have a place that...

Pretty decent CANADIAN Chinese food. Better than most Chinese food in barrie defiantly order again!

Egg roll: usually there under cooked this one was perfect!

Fried dumplings: there a bit bland I prefer Asian one on Essa dumplings, but there not bad id still purchase them :)

Hot and sour soup: isn't traditional but is more than just egg and tofu over all a great taste

Cantonese chow mien: isn't Cantonese they asked if I wanted crispy or soft I always ask for crispy it was soggy so I dono why it mattered lol it was good though Canadian style

Sho mai: BOMB soooo good it's hard to get good dim sum in barrie this one is amazing and the reason it got 4 stars.
