A Savory Delight at Salty Blonde Bagel I recently had the pleasure of dining at Salty Blonde Bagel in Barrie, and I must say, it was a delightful experience that left me craving for more. Nestled in a charming corner of the city, this eatery offers a unique and flavorful twist on the classic bagel. As soon as I stepped inside, I was greeted by a warm and inviting atmosphere. The cozy interior, adorned with rustic modern decor and comfortable seating, instantly made me feel at home. The staff members were friendly and attentive, providing excellent service throughout my visit. Now, let's talk about the star of the show—the bagels. Salty Blonde Bagel boasts an impressive selection of freshly baked bagels, each with its own distinct character and taste. From the moment I took my first bite, I was hooked. The bagels were soft and chewy on the inside, with a perfectly crisp crust on the outside—a true testament to their artisanal quality. The menu offers an array of delicious toppings and spreads to accompany the bagels, catering to both traditional and adventurous palates. I opted for their classic smoked salmon bagel with cream cheese, and it was an absolute delight. The salmon was fresh and flavorful, complemented beautifully by the creamy and rich cream cheese. Every bite was a burst of savory goodness that left me wanting more. One aspect that stood out to me was the attention to detail in presentation. Each bagel was meticulously prepared, garnished with fresh ingredients, and served with a side of crisp pickles. The vibrant colors and appetizing arrangement added an extra touch of flair to the dining experience. Another highlight of Salty Blonde Bagel is their commitment to accommodating dietary preferences. They offer a range of options for those with dietary restrictions or preferences, including gluten-free and vegan choices. It's refreshing to see a restaurant that goes the extra mile to cater to a diverse range of customers. The only reason I didn't give Salty Blonde Bagel a perfect rating is because of the limited seating space, which can get a bit crowded during peak hours. And the parking everyone love this place Katherine you need to go bigger 🥰 However, the quality of the food and the overall experience more than made up for it. In conclusion, Salty Blonde Bagel in Barrie is a hidden gem that bagel enthusiasts and food lovers should not miss. With its delectable bagel varieties, friendly staff, and cozy ambiance, it's a fantastic spot to indulge in a satisfying meal or grab a quick bite. If you're in the area and craving a flavorful adventure, make sure to pay a visit to Salty Blonde Bagel—you won't be disappointed.

Salty Blonde is a great spot for a light lunch or a quick connect with friends. Especially if you live in the east end. Conveniently located across from the No Frills plaza on Blake Street near Johnson, this restaurant is so much more than a bagel bar. It has a clean, spare Scandinavian vibe (a huge departure from the Italian decor when it was Nino’s!) a great grab and go cooler full of menu favourites and beverages and something on the menu for everyone. Hankering for a hearty soup on a cold day? A warm bagel with your favourite topping? Or just to warm your hands around a hot coffee? There’s booth, bench, and bar seating, so there’s always a spot to sit, even though the place is not large. When we popped in during the lunch hour on a Friday there was a family of four at the counter, a handful of friends in a booth, and a full spread of professionals along the centre cafe table. It was busy - always a good sign! Jamie, the host and manager greeted and seated us, and was spot-on and attentive in suggesting options, bringing our food to us hot, as soon as it was ready, following up to see all was acceptable, and generally buzzing tables and tidying up. I enjoyed the salty blonde bagel and my husband had the heirloom tomatoes on an open-faced bagel. We also tried the butternut squash soup. And of course coffees. A nice touch was the bottled water brought as soon as we were seated while we looked over the menu. An altogether nice break in a place that understands the value of a warm welcome, quick service, and a good price point. We’ll be back! Photos below.

Just good but could be excellent! Staff were friendly, welcoming atmosphere, prices are fair considering the quality of the food, grilled broccoli small plate was delicious, bagels were fresh and the ice latte with vanilla maple was exceptional. We ordered two SLT bagel sandwiches which didn't come toasted!! I never think of bagels as being something consumed untoasted. This also made them very very very difficult to chew. I took half of mine home because my jaw was so sore. They had 6 types of bagels, though we were not asked which type we wanted our sandwiches on - they just came on Everything. There was not enough sauce on either of the ones we ordered, which made the saltiness of the soppressata borderline too much. Mayo and butter would balance it very nicely! For a place that's working to be fresh/local/trendy I was surprised to get Higgins & Burke tea. Definitely expected Pluck, Four O'Clock or even a more artisan brand to match the high quality espresso drinks. Though it was well staffed, one thing that sort of took away from the experience is that the server was very quick to leave the table. We had to call them back as they walked away because we weren't done ordering. No one checked on us as we ate or else I would have voiced the untoasted/no sauce elements. We did get bagels to go and they were great! Super fresh. I'd be more inclined to just pick up bagels to go again than to eat in. Perhaps we just had high standards after dining at the Farmhouse the night before... (5/5 every time!)

I was in the neighbourhood and decided to give this place another try. Once again, I was extremely disappointed. I had the lox bagel. It was not cooked thoroughly and I could not chew through the bagel because it was ridiculously hard, yet chewy at the same time. Yet again, I tried to discuss my issues with the manager and she was just as rude and uninterested as she was the last time I was in and spoke to her. I suspect it may have had something to do with alcohol because that is all I could smell. I don't know what her problem is but she certainly does not interact with customers respectfully. The manager was very much like a petulant child and the food was disgusting. I will not be giving this place any more of my time or money. Unfortunate because the staff are all extremely pleasant, and happy to be of service and I adore the ambiance of the establishment.

I've been in here 5 times. As someone who is in this industry for over 20 years, I can say the food & drinks are amazing!!! (Quality, taste, presentation...) The décor is relaxing & the staff is A+. Except the "manager". I don't want to be mean but I have to be honest and wonder how she even got the job. She was rude, abrasive and made it obvious she did not care about our questions & concerns. She was too preoccupied sitting by herself, glued to her cell phone. She seemed annoyed when one of the staff approached her to come speak with us. My husband asked for the owners and we were told they were "not available" and any concerns must be passed on through her. No thank you. Very unprofessional. We really wanted to enjoy this new place, I adore the food, drinks & décor but I refuse to spend my money in an establishment where the management treats the customers with...

Cute spot. That's the only good thing about it. The food and service are extremely underwhelming for the price you are paying for a bagel. I visited this restaurant yesterday for the second time, the first time I had the same experience but I thought maybe that was a one off situation and wanted to give them another shot. I had the roasted red pepper and feta soup and shared a turkey and ham sandwich. It was $24 plus an expected tip, the total was 27$ and change for a bagel sandwich and cup of soup! Happy to pay this price if the food is next level but unfortunately, this was not. The soup tasted acidic and burnt, it was unpalatable and I ended up throwing it out! The bagel sandwich was just that, nothing memorable about it. Heavy on the Dijon which was the only flavour detectable. Not only was the food sub par but the service was less than sub par. We ordered our food at the counter, and the vibe was off from the first interaction, cold and unfriendly. We waited in their dining room for our takeout orders for about 10 min. When they came out we were handed a takeout container and a soup container. No cutlery, napkins, bag, nothing to take this food out with us. We asked for spoons and bags so we could take our food out as originally requested and the server, who was also the barista, seemed annoyed at the ask. Sorry, but we are taking it to go and don't necessarily want to use our hands to eat our soup. For $27 I truly expected more. At minimum, I expected my food prepared and ready to go with cutlery. You can't charge premium deli prices and not provide a premium deli experience. That's what this place is, a deli. I wanted to love it and gave it a second shot but I...
