On our recent visit to Barrie during the Labour day long weekend we came across this place while looking for options for a really late lunch. And, We were so pleasantly surprised with the amazing food they served. We were very excited to see some unique options so obviously had to try them thus, ordered a variety of dishes. 1) Makhana(Lotus seed) chaat which tasted a lot like bhel because of the tamarind and green chutney. Yum! would recommend to try if you like how Indian Chaats are a burst of flavours. 2) Double Mushroom was quite delish. 3) The Amritsari Soya Chaap and Bread combo which was nice, chaap was great, bread was okay. 4) For main course, for we had the Paneer Butter Masala and 5) Freshly made Garlic naan dripping butter which was just delicious! We also had the Masala Shikanji as drink on the side which was quite refreshing. Apart from the food, their staff was also very friendly and attentive, and we really appreciate the music they had playing in the background ! Adds a lovely touch to the overall experience. Would definitely recommend Divine dine if you are in the area and personally can’t wait to visit again :) P.s. We could not finish the gravy and naan so we brought the leftovers home and happy to report that it tasted even better the next day 😄 the naan was soft even after reheating and the gravy was so good i wiped it off with some plain basmati rice, Yummzaa !!

I had an absolutely terrible experience at Divine Dine. First off, the portion sizes were tiny for the price they charged, which was disappointing enough. But then, to make things worse, I found a small piece of a washing scrub in my noodles. yes, you read that right! I don’t think I’ve ever been so disgusted at a restaurant. The Kadhai Paneer was another nightmare. It was so sweet it tasted like someone tried to make a spicy ice cream—absolutely bizarre and unappetizing. When I tried to bring these issues up with the server, Luv, she was completely uninterested and dismissive. Not once did she apologize or even offer a solution, which just added to the terrible experience. Overall, Divine Dine was one of the worst dining experiences I’ve ever had. I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone looking for quality food or good service in barrie.

Located at the heart of downtown Barrie, this new restaurant offers a mixed bag of culinary experiences. Here's a breakdown of the likes and dislikes: Dishes: 1. Dahi Ke Kabab: Disappointingly, the dahi ke kabab lacked the authentic flavor I anticipated. Instead, they seemed to be frozen kababs, fried and served, making this dish one to skip. 2. Chole Bhature: While the chole had a satisfying taste, the bhature turned out oily and not as fluffy as expected. This seems to be a common issue among Barrie restaurants compared to those in the GTA. 3. Noodles: On a brighter note, the noodles dish impressed with its flavors, making it a recommendation for food lovers. Overall, the restaurant boasts a favorable location in downtown Barrie. However, the food falls into the average category, with some hits and misses across the menu.

The Cast System is still alive! *Zero star rating should be a thing.

Last night a friend of mine and I went out to two Indian restaurants in Barrie (Amaya - 19 Hart Dr, Barrie On L4N 5M3) and ( Divine Dine, 33 Bayfield St, Barrie On L4M3A6). Mind you, we are both dark skinned people of the African Diaspora. The first one, Amaya, sat us at a table near the back of the restaurant. No problem. There were other people seated in this area too. As I’m sitting there watching the tv, my friend points out to me that there are no Dark skinned Indian people in any of the music videos. Clearly there is still a cast system in Indian. Something I didn’t realize and now I can’t un-see. They gave us two glasses of water, menus and then never came back to take our orders. We waited about 10 minutes and they did not serve us. So we left. Mind you, there were only about 8 - 10 other dinners in the restaurant. All of them already served or waiting for their food. I can’t think of a reason why they never took our order besides the fact that, well…I’ll let you use your imagination to finish that. All the dinners were of a lighter completion including the staff. So we said okay let’s go to a different place still in hopes of getting Indian food. When we walked out they didn’t say anything…I would think that if you see your diners walk out you may try to stop them and find out why are they are leaving…I guess they didn’t care that much. 🤷‍♀️

So, We went to Divine Dine. Nice setting. They had two ladies singing live music. They sang well and played guitar well. The host gave us a table close to the musicians. Okay, sweat. Front row seats. The server brought water in a glass jar, two menus, and that was it. No cups to poor the water. Several of the workers Walked past our table two - three times. Acted like we werent there and again never took our order. we waiting about 10 minutes. No one came to the table. The restaurant had just finished serving a party. There was about 10 people in the restaurant, 2 just sat down to order. The others just finished their meal and listening to music. I seen them clear serval tables and still not take our order.

We left and went to the Flying Monkey. Much much better choice. Decent food. And no bullshit.

Sad to see the cast system is still alive. People are so close minded it’s disgusting. It’s your choice if you want to go two those two places or not but I highly recommend avoid...

I ordered food for 13-14 people on Sunday. I made a time order the boy who took my order on the call said me that dont worry we will provide enough food for 13 people because every day we are taking orders like this. I said this is the first time i am ordering from you guys so please be careful about everything. He said don’t worry about that. On the day when we went to pick our food we were shocked by seeing the amount they gave to us like we ordered it for 13 but the trays seems for 5 people only. The girl on counter was arguing with us. It’s lack of customer service.Next day when we call in store and ask them to give managers or owners number. Firstly they denied it for almost 2 hours. Than i spoke to the manager may be that was the same person who took my order. But i was not satisfied with his talk aa he was saying they are doing hard-work nd its our small business try to understand. Than i said him to give me owners number or email address than he was neglecting to give , he said talk to me i will do something for you. But he was just arguing with me my friend . Totally upset with experience. Not gonna order again from this store. They...
