This is a large kinetic sculpture made with an image of a Thunderbird, carrying people's dreams and desires to the Creator. The wings are shaped as sharp blades that move with the wind. The sculpture is both interesting and mythical to behold. When I visited last weekend, the sculpture was decorated with children's shoes and toys, as a memorial to the children lost in former residential school. It lets you see the down-town core at your back, and the Kempenfelt bay in front straight across to minets point (where you can take your kids to the park and get some ice-cream from a tiny little local shop on the left while driving into the kids-park.
This spot is host to quite a few community events over the summer months and tends to attract a wide array of crowds depending on time of day / season.
