All Concrete, a failure in every department. This same place used to have trees, gorgeous flower beds, be warm and inviting. It was essentially, the heart of Barrie. People of all ages, and of all walks of life could routinely be seen happily enjoying this unique park on a sunny summers day 'Together'. For example, most people wouldent bat an eye at the guy with the Misfits Tee ,1 foot red Mohak and 14 hole Doc Martin Boots if he were laying on the grassy noel, having a happy conversation with little blue-haired old lady. Albeit an odd sounding example, its loss. And the Supposed " great and new" Meridian Square, has taken on an unexpected and unwelcome role.
The lack of all of my above aforementioned positive characteristics in the new square, symbolize the first steps toward the end of the open thriving community, that we all once knew. And by default and no secrecy, it represents our city's faulty policy of allowing a single company have steaks in our downtown. The Monopoly of Barrie's core, and city's council's failure to address these issues, leave the future of our city's downtown to a very small handful of people. Eg.
