Kinja Sushi — Restaurant in Barrie

This review is for excellent Sushi and wonderful friendly customer service with efforts put into every detail of my experience. I had made a very large order and request specific to my shellfish allergy… Note * I have not had a reaction since my early teens as I actively avoid so I am not aware of the current severity. My wife however is obsessed with sushi and all shellfish native to her east coast roots… I take some risks every once in a while for the sake of living a little. I started my order with a specific text requesting almost everything on the menu without shellfish or crab (even if artificial) to help avoid the risk. I was then called within 15 minutes to discuss the severity and type of allergy I had. The lady putting together my order was very clear on detail and what I chose that wouldn’t be safe and what she could modify to make safe. I picked up my very large order (with about 1hr notice) everything was pieced together perfectly…. I will note that we found shrimp on one of the platters. I do not know if it was habit, mix up or misunderstanding but she was clear that they cleaned all surfaces and changed tools between types of sushi made. I avoided the container that had the shrimp piece and had a TON of everything else and was perfectly fine. Everything was fresh and very tasty. She even told me to avoid any tempura or fried menu items as the oils are shared with shellfish orders sometimes and didn’t want me to risk it. Top...

The food was delicious, we got a lot of the dragon rolls, and not only were they quickly made, but also fresh and perfect !!! There wasn't a ton of rice like in other restaurants, and it wasn't overly sweet. There were more fillings and the rice bowls were very nice! The miso soup was nice and super delicious, and the salmon and ikura were so gentle and delicious, they melted in my mouth, two (usually, in other restaurants) large bubble teas together were about 12, and 6 for one! The service was great, two people, super polite and friendly. The cost for three people and a lot of food we couldn't even finish because of the sheer amount in comparison to price only came to be 150. Very satisfied! The atmosphere was very nice, everything was extremely clean and neat, and was almost home-like. Very cozy, quiet, and nice. There were just a few spots in the restaurant that could be seen as slightly cramped and the lighting in the bathroom can be better, but this isn't a worry as everything else was substantial and great! Edit: I just tried their tteokbokki for the first time and it was absolutely delicious with the perfect amount of chewiness! 😍 Please try their Korean food as well! This has to be my favourite restaurant in Barrie, they never fail to provide fresh and tasty food. 😊

I just ordered delivery from Kinja Sushi for the first time, I got the Sashimi Lunch Bento... It was absolutely fantastic! This has to be the best delivery sushi in Barrie! The portions of the bento were perfect and I didn't feel overly stuffed afterwards, but extremely satisfied! ☺️

The sashimi were so fresh and buttery, the california rolls were amazing, the salad was crisp with a yummy dressing, the steamed rice was perfect and the miso soup was so warm and comforting!
