Gibby G's — Restaurant in Barrie

Went for breakfast, coffee was not great, food was not great either, for some reason my plate was wet. Peameal bacon was wet too. Like it sat under a lid for ten minutes and gathered condensation on the plate before it was served to us. The potatoes/home fries were not good. Full of skin, no seasoning/salt, very bland and tasteless. I am surprised to see positive reviews on this website, as they couldn't get breakfast right. There was also an issue with our bill. I went with a friend and asked for different bills. They put all his extra's on my bill. When I tried explaining it to the hostess Cammy, she just didn't get what I was telling her, she was condescending when she spoke with me, and in the end, let him walk away with out paying for his extras (milk and side sausage order), but charged me for it.

This morning, I called Gibby's to try and get the hostesses' name, which the lady who answered the phone told me, but when i told her i was going to put a review up, she immediately got cold, was no longer helpful, and refused to give me her name. And in the end, hung up on me ?!?

All in all, poor experience, from the not so great home fries, eggs and toast, to poor service, mix up with the bills, and the poor attitude this morning when I tried to get things rectified.

Will never go to this restaurant again, and/or...

My fiancé and I have been here several times in the past year & had good experiences until today. It was noticeably busy today & we didn’t mind waiting a few minutes for a table. Once we got to the table though it was still dirty & I had to wipe some old food off myself. Also there was a dirty wipe on the sill beside us & a knife on the floor under our table. We tried to look past that and enjoy our meal but we waited probably 30 minutes to get our meals after ordering. While watching other people who came in after us get their meals. The thing that really was the cherry on top was hearing the staff say “alright let’s get that table out of here, they’ve been here for an hour already”. Then the server comes over with the bill. Definitely came over with the bill faster than the coffee refills! I get there’s a lineup of other people waiting but when the food takes 30 minutes to arrive how is that our fault that we’ve been here an hour? It goes both ways. If you want faster turnover you need fast service. I’m not sure...

We had breakfast here on our way home from the Blue Mountain Village today. We arrive to find a modest looking place but inside it was buzzing, with a queue even at 12.30 p.m. The waitress service was excellent, brisk, efficient and helpful. We had two breakfasts which were HUGE, sausages, eggs, potatoes and ham/bacon and two pots of tea, out of which we got 3 cups each. All this came with lovely toast and a selection of jams and all the other condiments you could want. The food was piping hot, fresh and delicious. The place is clean, with plenty of space and, a point to mention, all the tables are easily big enough for you to eat your breakfast properly, something which is not found in many breakfast/lunch places, where they are too small in order to cram as many customers into a small area as possible. The price we paid ($36 with HST and tip) was an absolute bargain after spending a lot more than that on each meal at Blue Mountain for breakfasts of a lesser quality. We will be back and we highly...
