Scotty's — Restaurant in Barrie

I'd like to start by saying that Scotty's is my Mom's favourite restaurant and I try to take her there every time I visit from the GTA. On March 9, I called Scotty's Restaurant to help me plan my Mom's birthday dinner for the following day. Due to the lockdown and current COVID restrictions at the time, my plan was to arrange a delivery of her favourite dinner because I was unable to visit and take her personally. When I called I was told that they are not partners with any of the delivery apps and that they will not be able to arrange the delivery. I was disappointed but completed understood. A few minutes later the owner Sherry called me back and offered to deliver my Mom's dinner herself!! I was overwhelmed with gratitude! We took her up on this very generous offer. After I ordered my Mom's meal and Sherry confirmed the time that Mom's dinner would be delivered I hung up hopeful that all would go as planned. Not only was my Mom's dinner delivered right on time and without issue but Sherry had taken the time out of her busy schedule to decorate the food bag with some birthday decorations!! This was all done for a stranger!! In this crazy world that we are living in including the stresses of dealing with Covid, we were incredibly touched by Sherry's kindness!! We are customer's for life, on top of this the food is absolutely delicious! This is a must try...

We had just found Scotty's when the pandemic hit, just managed to get back there last weekend and so glad we did! Arrived around 6:30 on Friday night and the dining room was full but the bar side had lots of tables and cute little booths for two. Our server, Peter, was very friendly and knowledgeable. They have a good wine menu and reasonable prices. We had the baked garlic shrimp and the shrimp cocktail, both were delicious, nice portions of big, fresh shrimp. The garlic shrimp came with cheesy breadsticks that were fantastic! They offer a whole Keto section on the menu which makes me very happy. I had the Keto chicken with zucchini and it was juicy and delicious. Hubby had chicken parmesan and he said it was excellent and I never even got a bite! It also came with the fantastic breadsticks. I took Peter's advice and had the lemon chiffon cheesecake and it was light and refreshing and the perfect end to a great meal. The atmosphere at Scotty's is relaxed and fun. We really enjoyed listening to one of the female servers bantering with her guests, she was hilarious. I commented that it didn't seem like anyone was in any hurry to leave, everyone was having a great time. Looking forward to our next dinner...

Was recommended by a family member, went in for a date night, the waitress was very friendly and helpful, we were seated almost immediately. Service was a bit slow during the busier hours, it slowed down around 730pm and was then amazing! My husband ordered a steak and I ordered the chicken parmigiana. About 15 minutes after ordering our waitress came to inform us they ran out of steak. My husband picked something else on the menu, it happened to be ribs which was the second most highly rated item on the menu (first being steak). After 5 minutes of ordering the a full rack of ribs our waitress came back out to tell us that they only had half a rack of ribs left and then they were out. My husband decided to change his meal again to a chicken dish, which was then served about 10 minutes later. Our meals were hot, it was fast and our waitress was extremely apologetic. The best part of our meals would have to be the drinks! Before leaving our waitress offered us 2 pieces of turtle cheesecake (complimentary) and took two drinks off of our bill due to the mix up regarding the food.
