Tahini's — Restaurant in Barrie

This location is honestly horrible. It could be an amazing restaurant if it was run properly but it's very mismanaged, unorganized and zero accountability for their wrongdoings. We had an awful experience a few months ago with old, inedible food that had been sitting out for who knows how long (tasted spoiled and we couldn't eat it) but we gave this a one off and hoped things changed. Proceeded to order once again and we left vowing to never give this location our business again. On multiple occasions we have ordered in advance online to have our food ready for pick up, only to arrive at the restaurant with the staff not even knowing about our order. Any time, this is not acceptable, but especially during ramadan, this is blatant disrespect. I will not take the restaurant being busy as an excuse when there is only one other customer in the restaurant and our order was placed an hour prior. Completely unacceptable when we had ordered to have the food ready for when fast was broken and were told it hadn't even been started. Initially they couldn't even find iur order in their system!! Do not waste your time here. Sadly Barrie is lacking a good middle eastern restaurant and this had the best close to authentic options. Service is just not up to par. The manager has no care or accountability for his restaurant or actions of his employees. We cancelled our order (that was never started) and ended up going home to cook. I honestly can’t believe this place has a 4.3 rating on google, and I can’t believe this franchise is still even in business !! I’m actually a very big fan of Tahini’s and the food, but this location and the employees are horrible. I ordered a shawarma plate and asked them and paid for extra sauce on the chicken and to have sauce on the salad since it doesn’t come with any. The girl working there and the guy helping her just continued to talk about whatever and slap my food together as if they’re doing me a favour by working there and serving me. They slapped all the sauce in one huge pile on top of the salad and on top of my meal and just closed the lid. Imagine a nasty pile of sauce covering your whole plate and creating a disgusting mess as soon as you open it to eat it. I mentioned this to this the girl working and her response was “your sauce is with your meal as you requested” and continues to close my box with sauce oozing out all sides. I cannot believe the level of customer service at this establishment; it’s HORRIFIC. This is a PRIME EXAMPLE of a franchise growing super quick and just giving franchises to whoever wants one. I wouldn’t eat at this location again if it was national shawarma day and they were giving away food ! I wouldn’t stop in here to take cover if a tornado or hurricane was touching down and it was life or death. I want to start off by saying Tahini's is one of my favorite restaurants. The food is amazing; always tasty and fresh. I have never been to the Barrie location but we were in the area and decided to stop by. The customer service was horrendous. We ended up being charged twice for our meal. When I brought it up I was told I was lying. I pulled up my bank statement which showed that I had just been charged twice. They still did not believe me. The "owner" was called and we were told to wait 3 days to see if we were actually charged. At this point we'd had enough. We asked for a refund and I figured I would email the owner in the morning to get the rest of the charge figured out. We were then told they could not do a refund because the food was already made. Having worked in the food industry myself when I was younger, I was absolutely appalled at this response. We were ready to call the police at this point and have them sort it out which is when they finally agreed to give us back the amount of the second change. We never did get a full refund though.
