I write a review hoping what I have experienced will help someone. But I realized today how dangerous it is to share personal thoughts. Four months ago I gave the lowest score on a review of Wating pho U. Because the menu I ordered was Pad Thai and my seat was next to the bathroom, so I had the worst meal. After that, I had to go to this restaurant three more times because of my friends and had dinner with my family again today. I've changed my mind completely.Rice noodles and shrimp fried rice were the best. Especially deep fried wonton was great as an appetizer. Even though they were cooking using oil, they tasted clean. Of course Pad Thai and chicken vermicelli were still too sweet and sweet. And the bathroom is messy and I don't care about the inside of the restaurant at all, so it's hard to expect a good meal. Even today, it is full of lipstick and I brought water in a broken cup. But the food was the best. From now on, I think I will eat several menus and visit and write several times to deliver accurate information. It was the first time that I deleted and revised the review and uploaded it, but it was pleasant. But please clean the bathroom and separate the men's and women's toilets.Everyone, don't use...
Read moreMy family and I had left Wasaga Beach and found this Pho joint located in Barrie. Let me tell you, Pho tastes darn good after a vacation or a trip.
I ordered a large Pho Dac Biet (variety of beef types) and I am please to say that it was good. One of the best Pho and broth I’ve tasted thus far. It had the right amount of saltiness, flavour, and with traditional ingredients topped with herbs and garnishment. The quantity of meats and noodles was just right per the size of the bowl.
If you take notice of the broth, it has small fat bubbles which to me indicated, but it’s not exact, that the broth was simmered with beef bones mostly likely bone marrow. The fat bubbles are released from the cow bones and the result is a mostly naturally flavoured well made broth, as to using beef flavoured powder.
As far as as the food goes my family enjoyed theirs, no one complained. What this joint will benefit from if an opportunity arises, is to expand and make the restaurant space larger. While seating with my party of 10+ some customers who arrived later, left due to the there being no space.
If your in Barrie this is the place to go for Pho. But this is the only Pho place...
Read moreWe were driving on the way home from Blue Mountain and decided to stop in Barrie for lunch. Found this Vietnamese restaurant with pretty good reviews.
Ambiance: A bit worn out with leather seat peeling so it hurts when you sit with shorts on. It’s a bit small so it was hard to accommodate 12 people together. We had to split up.
Service: Very accommodating. They moved some tables for us to be closer to our kids and when we called ahead of time they saved us 3 small tables. Food came very fast.
Food: Very authentic. Restaurant was owned by a Vietnamese family so you know the food will be authentic. We ordered the Vietnamese spring rolls to start, fresh and crispy. Very flavourful and they used the rice paper for the spring rolls which is the authentic way to make it. We also got the pork and shrimp fresh rolls with peanut sauce so good and fresh. Mains we got the pho with rare beef, Bun bo hue your spicy beef noodles, grilled pork with spring roll and vermicelli. Also got the grilled pork chop and chicken with rice..
Price is very reasonable and portions are a good size. Will...
