Bad customer service from the manager herself... We've been to Riverside Pub a few times, mostly for wing night. While we have never had exceptional service, our most recent experience was so terrible we won't make the mistake again. The wings are decent for the price you pay, but the overall experience is not worth it.
We seated ourselves at a table and there was a bit of a wait to be acknowledged, but we didn't mind. Our server came around and asked for our orders, she wasn't rude, but not very friendly either. Soon after another server came and dropped the wings off at our table, after she walked away we noticed there were no plates or napkins, and wings get messy! We didn't see any servers around so we figured we'd start eating and flag someone down when the opportunity came. Our server finally "checked" on us while walking past our table and we asked for plates etc, they never came. Our server started chatting with a table behind us while and we still had not received any service since our wings came. Soon we were finished eating and sat there with empty cups and saucy fingers because we were never given napkins or refills. We waited about 20 minutes for our server to finish her conversation at the other table. The ironic part being that they were discussing gratuities and how they should be based on the quality of service. When her conversation was finished she still did not approach our table (we were 1 of 3 tables in her section) instead walked over to the cash to finish with whatever she was doing. I would have appreciated at least being acknowledge at that point even if it was just to say she'd be another minute. When she does return to our table there is no apology of any kind just carries on as if this was all fine. We asked for napkins and the bill. Our server was also the manager, which makes it awkward to voice the concerns we had, plus we had waited so long we were just happy to leave. The quality of service we have received in the past makes a little more sense now having experienced the quality of service the...
Read moreFirst time I went it was great. The next time was horrible. Waited at the top of the stairs to be seated as the waitress talked to another waitress, a man came to talk to us we thought maybe he's a floor manager, nope he was an exteamly drunk patron who definitely was a regular. We watched them pour him more alcohol once he was seated at the bar again. When the waitress finally came up to us she said "sit where ever you like" to which i replied "the sigh says wait to be seated" she muttered something under her breath as we walked to our booth, to what looked like a cook and the cook replied well the sign does say that. After she gave the extremely drunk man more alcohol (which this was 1pm during the work week) she came to take our orders. We got fish and chips and while they both looked delicious they were not. The fish has such a thick batter when we bit into it grease poured out and the batter was not fully cooked. I took it all off and had to wipe wet batter off my haddock with my finger to eat it. We didn't complain because we honestly just wanted to eat and leave. Definitely will...
Read moreThis. Is. My. Spot. I go every week for wing night and my regular waitress is BEYOND amazing. I can't stress this enough. Then there's the wings..... I think I'm addicted. I've had wings at many establishments around the city and outside and this place brings me back every week. A few weeks ago I went in as usual, normal time and when I walked up I saw the table I usually sit at and it had a reserved sign on it. I joked to my friend "hey look they reserved my table" and sure as sh*t it was reserved for me and will be every week unless I say otherwise! That's just the type of service you get there. Above and beyond. I know I'll keep going until I can't go anymore. Thanks for the great food and every...
