Resto Urban Dining — Restaurant in Bedford

I read some reviews and thought I would give Resto Urban Dining a try. I called and booked reservations and they were able to accommodate quickly. We arrived and there was adequate parking even though the entry/exit is a little confusing if you haven't been there before.

We were seated at a table and we ordered their garlic creme mussels and Mediterranean spread with pita. The mussels were amazing and the Mediterranean Spread was served with a dry toast instead of pita bread. We did receive some complimentary pita bread which was nice.

I ordered the Chicken and Prosciutto Spagettini with Gluten Free pasta which was delicious. My wife ordered Smoked Sausage and Chicken Penne. My daughter ordered spaghetti and meatballs off the kids menu which she enjoyed. The only thing that my daughter did mention that could be improved was the meat balls. She felt they were a little dryer than other ones she has tried.

Overall, the food was pretty good, but the service could have been improved. I will be fair and say that things were getting busier while we were there, and based on what I noticed I believe they were understaffed (which a lot of restaurants are these days). Given this I didn't feel it was a 5 star experience, so I am rating it 4/5. If we try it again another time and the service improves I will update...

I have eaten at Resto a number of times. For the other 13 people in our party, it was their first visit. Food is very flavorful and with a contained menu, there really is a dish for everyone. This is why we decided to have a very special birthday dinner for a family member. They were able to accommodate our large party, and our server was lovely. Where we were thoroughly disappointed was the fuss that was made about the outstanding specialty cake that we had brought to the restaurant. They do not allow outside dessert in the restaurant. The manager said "You didn't ask when you made the reservation". I had to hand over the cake and got it back at the end of the evening. We have had several beautiful special occasion meals all over our amazing city and never, ever have I had this happen. Yes, my fault for not asking, however we all felt it was incredibly short sighted of the manager. 14 patrons, one very large food and drink bill, and unfortunately we can't recommend to others for this reason. We went here for a birthday dinner, so something special. The food and service certainly matched the occassion. It was excellent. It was our first time but certainly not the last time. Fromthe outside it is a bit of a non-descript building that looks much smaller than it is. They have nice separate rooms for larger parties which is nice for the smaller groups. The menu choices were a nice wide variety with an affordable price. I had the Thai pork skewers as a starter (forgot to take a picture as they looked too good) which was delicious, especially sate saus. My wife had the calamari which was very nice as well. As main items we had Beef, simple name for a lot of flavour and a good sized portion of meat, Pesto chicken pasta which was the best my daughter ever had, pulled pork pizza, great combination of italian and meat and Pad Thai, a very flavourful dish, one of the best I have ever had.
