Pappa's Family Restaurant — Restaurant in Beverly

Usee to be very good food although the only problems have been with waitresses either they always seem to rush you or they completely ignore you. The last 2 time's we have gone in for dinner, the waitress was rude...the first time I thought maybe she had a bad day or whatever but second time it was the same rude snarky treatment and yes, before you even think it, I always tip good even with the rude attitude. We have been in with very large groups for birthdays etc and never has the waitresses been rude in the groups.

Stopped in for a quick bite with my son's grandmother. She ordered a steak sandwich medium well. When this steak arrived, it looked dry and re heated..it did not look fresh at all but not only that the steak was so hard you couldn't jab a fork into it or cut it.

Medium well steak to me, means, Just a hint of pale pink inside tand steak will be mostly grey-brown throughout...this piece was grey and burnt black around the outside as well. Pretty sure this is universal for any medium well done steak.

So we tell the waitress what's wrong and show her, and she snarled and said "THAT IS medium well, thats what you asked for" and we told her it's very very well done and asked her to try to cut into it and she couldn't either..so she says "do you want me to see if they will make you another one?" So she said sure please... then as we were again sitting waiting...so by the time it showed up..we had to already go so we asked for take away containers and the waitress actually rolled her eyes then spun around went into other room and started complaining to the second waitress about us wanting the steak and take out control to go!

Just a heads up for the waitresses -- most people are not deaf..We CAN hear over the music and hear you bitching and complaining about customers all the way from the window seats - 🙄

Given this place one to many chances, sadly this was the last straw... after that kind or rudeness of having to argue how a person wants their own food cooked that they are paying for is ridiculous. I could see it if half the bad steak was eaten but it was not even cut into at all and the waitress acted like we were asking her to cook 10 more and we were not paying for any!!

Ended up taking out food home. YES we still tipped, even though we shouldn't have at all.

No more chances I won't be back or bring anyone to this...

I've only ordered delivery so I've never had the chance to see the staff or atmosphere yet, however I'm still impressed with their food! I've tried their pizza a few times and they were fantastic! Lots of toppings, cheesy and thick, the meatlovers was my favourite. We decided to try the deep fried pickles for something a bit different and they were SO good! The batter held up, it wasn't oily and gross, it was Crispy fresh and tasty! Would I have it again? Absolutely I have and will continue to try more of their menu.

Update June 3 We've eaten several more times for delivery and am still not disappointed. I'm still in love with how well their pickles and zucchini sticks hold up for delivery and don't look or come across as greasy one bit. We've since tried the burgers, I even made a slight mistake and ordered something different than I thought but was still pleasantly surprised. The burgers were tasty, not overly fancy like some places. We also ordered the poutine to see what it was like and it was huge, I really liked the gravy. I was slightly disappointed it wasn't cheese curds but I still greatly enjoyed it. NOTE : I read a bunch of the reviews and seen a photo of the restaurant which looked quite nice. What I don't understand is people giving out poor marks for atmosphere and not mentioning why they mark it that way. My family and I stopped by this restaurant the other day before going to an event as it was one of the few places that was family friendly. We all ordered our food and it did come rather quickly which was great. My wife had ordered a cheeseburger as well as myself and in the process of eating these my wife found a long black hair inside her burger which was totally disgusting. We told the lady who was serving us and she mumbled that nobody in the back has hair like that which I said I don't care but this is obviously hair inside her burger. The lady asked if we wanted anything different but we just asked for an order of mozza sticks. I had proceeded to eat my cheeseburger and I too found a hair in my burger of the same length and I think I may have swallowed it....so disgusting. Both of us were not impressed what so ever with the food.

We asked for our bill and saw that even though we received our food with hair, the cheeseburgers were still on the bill?? Like what the hell? They were still charging us for these when there was hair in both?? I am so disgusted. I mentioned it to the guy that took our payment and all he did was give 50% off the burgers, he didn't even offer to make it right like most restaurants do. We will not be back there and will tell others...
