If you’re in Bradford, Ontario, and craving authentic Portuguese pastries, Caldense Bakery is a must-visit spot! This family-owned business is a gem that offers not only delicious treats but also a warm and welcoming atmosphere.
I was blown away by the variety of pastries on display—each one a masterpiece! The Nutella natas (a creative twist on the traditional pastel de nata) were rich and indulgent, and the Pistachio Appolini were flaky, buttery, and perfectly balanced in flavor. They also have an array of almond-based sweets, gingerbread cookies, and classic chocolate chip cookies, each crafted with care.
The pastries are fresh, authentic, and made with high-quality ingredients, showcasing the bakery’s dedication to tradition and excellence. You can truly taste the passion and love this family puts into their craft.
Whether you’re looking to indulge your sweet tooth or simply enjoy a moment of joy with a cup of coffee, Caldense Bakery is the perfect spot. Their combination of traditional Portuguese flavors and creative offerings makes it a standout in the community.

Read moreI have been going to Portuguese bakeries my whole life 40 plus years. It's bad enough that this Bakery is overcharging for everything by 30% - 40% than any other Portuguese bakerys do, in toronto. Woodbridge. Mississauga. Nova Era bakery. Other Caldense bakeries. Sierra bakery. Noso Talho bakery. I can go on and on. The problem I have is the 4 meat sandwiches I ordered had really tough meat in it very hard to chew. sweet bread I brought home was drier than the Sahara Desert and crumbling into pieces. Was probably a week old... the service and the french fries ordered was great... This is not the first or third time this has happened to me at this bakery. Officially now on I refuse to go to a bakery like this. You cannot charge people...... "YOUR PORTUGUESE" people like myself..... 30% - 40% more for your product and put out crap product. They charged me $9.42 for A chorizo. Same brand I buy at those other bakeries For $6. Very disappointed if the manager would like to talk to me please do so.... also I used to make sweet bread for 10 years and delivered it in Toronto. I have more of a history of hitting Portuguese bakeries than most people have of drinking fresh cold...
Read moreI had an hour in between meetings this morning and was just about to get into Starbucks, but noticed this location and instantly my head was filled with nostalgic memories. I used to work nearby another location in Toronto and would go pick up some breakfast sandwich and natas for the Portuguese colleagues on a monthly basis. A bite on the nata brought me back to the days of that first job out of school, it tasted the same all these years. Very fluffy and crunchy crust with the same old fashioned custard, my body just couldn’t take that much sweet anymore so the latte helps wash it down. The service is excellent, my heart warmed up as the staffs greeted with a genuinely smile and they are very nice people. The service sector deserves a 5 star because the visit made me feel like home. The girl server and I had a miscommunication so unfortunately the nata didn’t get warmed up, and she thought I wanted to order an additional plain omelette. I didn’t want to waste the food so I took it any way. When I checked out, the cashier lady explained that the girl is new and not very fluent in English, and offered to waive...
