Way too many kids screaming - avoid for those hot date nights, especially parents that pay pretty pennies for babysitters.
The selection of red wine was absolutely mid, with $40 Decoy and $40 J Lohr’s priced at $70+. A menu of like 30 different wines from LCBO down the road instead of a curated short wine list by a sommelier sourced from special wine shops.
Beef Carpaccio was so bland and not thinly sliced. The meat isn’t even cooked so most of the prep time should be focused on properly slicing, and the final presentation was so messy and looked rushed. Hardly any vinaigrette.
The octopus salad special was absolutely generous with the octopus, but it wasn’t even seasoned. No salt, no pepper, no nothing. They gave us a slice of a lemon to season ourselves. So boring. Octopus, lettuce, a couple chopped peppers, onions and other randomness tossed in.
Free bread was a nice touch I guess, but why was the oil mix to pair so spicy? It was good to me but I would’ve felt bad bringing a friend that wasn’t good with spicy especially because it wasn’t disclosed.
Our server was so boring, in and out, no conversations, no personality, just lack lustre.
I do want to mention that I have worked at a fine dining restaurant for over 2 years so my opinion may differ than the average person. I just really wanted to like this place because I’m new to Bradford and love finding really nice food for date nights with my fiance.
Unfortunately, I won’t be back and won’t recommend this place. There are other cuisines in Bradford that are worth going for from places south of Texas and warmer than Italy. Give those...
Read moreFirst impressions are a big deal to me. With that said, It was ok. They told us their wood fire pizza oven was not working which was unfortunate, however there was other Italian dishes to order so no biggy. Our waiter was nice, however he made the mistake of not informing us about our pasta dish being unavailable when we ordered it along with our apps at the beginning of our service. We had received and eaten our apps and had been waiting for our main to come. The hostess then told us that our main was not available and that our waiter should have known and informed us when we ordered it at the beginning of our service, to order another dish we would have to wait awhile since the kitchen was backed up. So we called it a night and got our bill. Restaurants have their off days and that's fine, however I didn't get that sense where they wanted to make things right and make it up by rushing a new order or giving us free sodas. Anything to show that they were sorry. Considering the bill came up to $70 for fried calamari, rice balls, and two sodas this place was not worth it at all!! I rather go to Locale where I'm paying the same price (or less) for better food and high quality service. First impressions are everything in the restaurant business...ill...
Read moreWhat a great night! The moment I entered, the restaurant exuded a warm and inviting ambiance. The interior decor was tastefully done, creating a cozy and comfortable atmosphere. It was busy but did not feel crowded at all.
Our waitress Cassandra was absolutely wonderful. She was not only knowledgeable about the dishes but genuinely enthusiastic about the cuisine. Her recommendations were spot on and she made sure we had everything we needed throughout the evening.
Now let’s talk about the food! I opted for a classic pasta dish and it was divine. The flavours were excellent and the pasta was cooked to perfection. Each bite was a burst of Italian authenticity and I found myself savouring every bite.
The menu was extensive and offered a wide variety of Italian dishes making it tough to choose just one. I’m looking forward to my next visit to try something new and experience the deliciousness all over again.
Basically this is my new favourite restaurant in town. From the delectable food to the welcoming ambiance and exceptional service it’s a must visit for anyone who enjoys Italian food. Don’t miss out...
