Can't even begin to describe how amazing this South Indian/Sri Lankan find was!
When I saw "Asia" in the name of the restaurant, I thought noodles, stir-fry and such - this restaurant is not that.
I was alone and ordered an appetizer, main dish AND a dosa.
I'll start by saying my eyes are much bigger than my tummy and the menu was vast! Even if I had of had company, it would have been enough for at least 4 hungry adults!
The MIX AND ENJOY IDLY VADA was 2 types of a doughy deliciousness, served with 3 sauces/chutney. It also was served with a delectable vegetable soup!! (I ordered extra to take home - SO good!)
The GOAT BIRYANI was (I think) the best I've ever had. The rice was flavourful, aromatic and almost fluffy in it's texture. The goat was BY FAR the most tender I've enjoyed in any restaurant.
Last, thank goodness, but certainly deserves an applause of its own; The BUTTER CHICKEN DOSA - OH.MY.GOD. The dosa is a thin, panckake/crepe like bread, that is folded over, with the butter chicken inside, swear to God, it's about 16 inches wide. The butter chicken is some kind of secret magic. I was full (see above) yet somehow managed to scarf down almost half of it!! The chicken was tender, not dry at all (noteworthy, as many restaurants fail at this). The sauce was slurp-able and I suggest making sure you keep a spoon to enjoy every last drop.
The restaurant itself is modest and clean. I only saw the chef/owner and one wait staff and both were friendly and efficient.
The food was prepared fresh and was brought out to me and presented on platters with all the accouterments displayed and described. Dig. In!!
I was SO involved in my food, I didn't even ask for their names.
Had they not been so polite, I'm 100% sure they would have been laughing at the amount of food I was served. However, they brought me pack-up containers and extra chutneys and sauces to enjoy ALL my leftovers at home.
Anyhow. Stop here. ASAP It is a must. Bring your appetite!!
I'm an hour and a bit north of Bradford, but I will be back...
Read moreI recently had the displeasure of dining at Golden taste of Asia Restaurant, and the experience was thoroughly disappointing and disheartening. From the moment I stepped through the door, I was greeted by an overwhelming stench that seemed to permeate every corner of the establishment. The ambiance was lackluster, with outdated and worn-out decor that gave the impression of a place that had long lost its luster.
The service was equally abysmal. The staff seemed uninterested and disengaged, and it took an eternity for anyone to even acknowledge our presence. When we were finally seated, it was at a table that wobbled so severely that I feared my meal might end up in my lap. The server seemed more preoccupied with chatting to colleagues than taking our orders, and when the food did arrive, it was clear that the kitchen staff were equally uninspired.
The menu boasted an array of dishes, but the reality fell far short of the descriptions. The appetizers were bland and uninspired, clearly lacking any attention to detail or flavor. The main courses, when they eventually arrived, were overcooked, under-seasoned, and presented in a haphazard manner that suggested little care or consideration. It was evident that neither the chef nor the kitchen staff took any pride in their work.
In conclusion, I would strongly advise against dining at Golden taste of Asia Restaurant. The entire experience was a lamentable display of subpar food, lackluster service, and an atmosphere that was best described as dreary. Save your time and money and seek out a dining establishment that actually cares about providing a quality experience to...
Read moreI just went to eat at this restaurant and we were so disappointed! The mutton rolls we ordered was so small, smaller than my index finger. It had no mutton at all in it. It was over fried that it was hard to eat. We ordered mutton kothu and instead gave us chicken kothu roti. When we told the lady working there all she did was change it on the bill. Was not even apologetic at all. We had to tell her we didn't want the chicken kothu amd to take it off the bill. I found a small wire piece in the chicken buriyani we ordered. Again, when we showed the lady she did nothing about it. The chicken in the buriyani was not cooked and was dripping blood. Showed the chef and he looked at it and asked me what I wanted him to do about it. The customer service at this restaurant is awful. I wouldn't recommend anyone going here. The only food that tasted decent was the dosa. Everyone works hard for their money, and if I come to a restaurant to spend money and get some food I expect it to be good! Mistakes happen but not so many and atleast as a restaurant owner be considerate. They didn't even care at all. So disappointed and again, I won't...
