I want to start off by saying that the food was delicious but due to a bad experience, I won’t be ordering from here again.
I ordered catering from Elsa’s because I enjoyed the food at a family friend’s event. However, since my guests don’t eat pork, I made sure to specify that I wanted chicken adobo, and not pork.
Unfortunately, despite me saying I wanted chicken adobo, the young lady taking my order didn’t specify; she simply wrote “adobo”. I couldn’t read what she wrote as she gave me the slip of paper where the writing was less legible so the store can keep the more legible writing.
I left my name and phone number for the order and yet I never received any call or clarification if I wanted chicken or pork adobo.
When my guests came on the second day of filming (I was directing a student thesis film and wanted to introduce them to Filipino cuisine), I told them that everything was fine to eat and there wasn’t any pork. My producer (who isn’t Filipino) was the one who picked up the food and as such, she didn’t know what chicken adobo looked like. I myself thought they used chicken breast since I clearly ordered chicken adobo.
It was made aware to me after the shoot by my parents that it was actually pork. And I was left sick to my stomach. Many of my guests couldn’t eat pork due to religious reasons and due to this, this was an infraction on their religion.
I was then informed that the order was just written as “adobo” and they didn’t specify that I wanted “chicken adobo”; as such, when it’s not specified, they just assume pork adobo and that’s what they gave us.
It was a communication breakdown but I still firmly believe that if they were unsure about which adobo to serve, they should have called me to clarify instead of just assuming.
The lady I spoke to on the phone was very kind and apologetic, but the damage has been done. And the only restitution they can offer me was a discount next time I order. That being said, after this experience, I don’t think I’ll order...
Read moreIf there's -1 I will rate them that.. I went there 10am saturday to set an order for pick for one party tray of dinakdakan and they said I can pick it up at 11:30am. They wrote down my name and cel# and my order to a paper. Supposedly for our picnic potlucks even if I was late I waited until 11:30am so pag dating ko don they said it's not ready but they never made it kasi sabi nila yung atay hindi pa luto so i canceled my order.. nag sorry naman yung cashier but the woman owner she's so rude and she said "ano gusto mo gawin ko?!" when the cashier ask her about the order.. so disappointed and didnt say anything and left because people around but the cashier said sorry so thats good enough.. since then never go back there and I even told my friends about it..
(LOL I just wanna update my comment and reply to your replied comment. I never lie when I make a comment review here in Google.. yah I was wrong about the time so I edit it. And now you guys said that a was mad?! Wow whos lying now huh?! Of well for the sake of your business right?! You know that I was so calm when I asked the cashier even though you guys said "the atay ay still pinapakuluan!". And I said "kasi may pupuntahan aq..." and the cashier said:" cge po tanungin q po sandali.." and then when the woman came out she shouted:" ANO GUSTO MO GAWIN KO?!" In front of people so I said to the cashier:" ok cancel nyo nalang cge.." I didn't made any scene or showed mad to everyone there because im not bastos and only uneducated person do that.. so you said I was mad?! Review your CCTV before accusing me that I showed madness that day.. I walk out quietly coz people were there.. why you guys even promised that I can pick it up 11:30am anyways?! Read moreBuy catering else where if you wish to be punctual to your events/parties. We placed a pick up order for 3pm and arrived at 3:20pm to collect it.
Upon paying they told us to sit down. We discovered on our own that the food is not ready, and it looked like they are just starting to cook it. Really disappointing that the food was ready at 3:52pm, almost an hr from when it should have been ready.
Also, from reading past reviews it seems that this is not the first time it has happened; looks like they haven’t learned/changed from their previous incidents. Moreover, it’s clear to see that the person responding to the poor reviews on Google has no ownership to their business’ mistakes and just gaslights the person reviewing, making it seem like it’s the customers fault and not theirs.
Google reviews is here for a reason. It’s for consumers to share their thoughts on an establishment for the public to read, regardless if it’s good or bad. Do not tell people to keep things private.
I myself as a small business owner love to support other local small business! Please kindly recognize your complaints and own up to your mistake. I hope the customer that will come after me will receive better service and accurate turnaround time for their promised completion...
