I had a great experience here with my family! The food was delicious and the atmosphere was really nice. It’s the beginning of January and they still have Christmas/New Year’s decorations, which are festive but tasteful, but even without the decorations, the interior is beautiful. The pace of the service was a little slow but nothing extreme, and the staff was polite and knowledgeable about the food, and checked in often to make sure we were enjoying everything. It was very nice of them to pack up our leftovers for us Between three of us, we ordered Potato and Leek Soup (on special), Paneer Nurjahan, Chicken Tikka Masala, Navratan Korma, Onion Kulcha, 2 Garlic Naan, Mango Cheesecake, and Kulfi Falooda. I had at least a taste of everything but the chicken. Everything was amazing! I had ordered the paneer for myself but my favourite was actually the korma. I really liked the sweetness and texture of the whole raisins and cashew pieces. I liked the thick naan and appreciated that the breads came with complimentary achar - theirs was very pungent (in a good way). Note that this isn’t a place where they ask for your preferred spice level; they have their recipes and the spiciness varies with each dish. Out of what we got, I think the paneer dish was the spiciest, but even that was around what I’d call a “medium”, nothing was super hot. Very rich flavours all around though. I’m sure plenty of ghee was used in cooking but nothing had that greasy feel. We had quite a bit of leftovers, I think getting 2 mains and 2 breads would have been enough for the 3 of us, but it was nice to try many dishes. The desserts did not disappoint either. The mango cheesecake looked small but was dense and creamy, and not too sweet. The falooda had a nice floral flavour and smooth kulfi, nothing cheap or artificial-tasting. I had the Paan Masala drink, which was very unique. The paan flavour was very strong but there was a hint of spice too that balanced out the sweetness. If you like the taste of paan you will definitely like this, but I would also definitely recommend it if you want to try something different. I loved it! Highly recommended! Although it’s not fine-dining, it’s classy enough to be a good place for a...
Read moreI've been a regular at Mirch Masala Authentic Indian Restaurant for quite some time now, and each visit reaffirms why I keep coming back. The recent renovations have transformed the place, giving it a fresh, modern look while still maintaining its traditional charm. The new decor is beautiful, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere that enhances the dining experience.
For all the spicy food enthusiasts out there, the Veg Toofani is a must-try. This dish is incredibly spicy and flavorful—perfect for those who love their food with a serious kick. The balance of spices is masterful, ensuring that the heat doesn't overwhelm the rich, complex flavors. You can even request it to be made extremely spicy if you dare.
Another standout dish is the Kaju Masala. The quality here is consistently excellent, featuring a rich, creamy gravy that perfectly complements the sweetness and crunch of the cashews. The dish is seasoned to perfection, providing a delightful blend of flavors that is both comforting and indulgent.
In addition to the fantastic food, the service at Mirch Masala is top-notch. The staff are attentive and friendly, always ready to offer recommendations or adjust the spice level to your preference. I've been a loyal patron of Mirch Masala for the past four years, and it has consistently been a go-to spot for delectable dining experiences. The culinary delights served here have always been top-notch, leaving my taste buds delighted after every visit.
The ambiance has also been a highlight, especially since the recent renovation. The refreshed décor adds a modern touch without compromising the warm and inviting atmosphere that drew me to the restaurant in the first place.
However, the one aspect that has left me with mixed feelings is the noticeable spike in prices over the past year. I completely understand that inflation has impacted businesses across the board, leading to an increase in costs. Yet, the surge in prices at Mirch Masala seems disproportionately high, with a substantial 70-80% hike, particularly after the recent renovation.
A meal for three, can now easily set you back over $150+, a considerable leap from what I was accustomed to paying in previous years. While I'm more than willing to pay for quality, the sharp increase in prices has given me pause.
Despite the price concern, I must emphasize that the quality of the food has not wavered. Each dish continues to be a testament to the culinary expertise of the chefs, with flavors that consistently impress. The menu remains diverse and exciting, showcasing a commitment to excellence that has kept me returning.
In conclusion, Mirch Masala remains a culinary haven for those seeking an exceptional dining experience. The increase in prices, though, is a factor that cannot be overlooked. If the management can find a way to strike a balance between maintaining the high standards that patrons have come to expect and addressing the pricing concerns, it would undoubtedly secure this establishment as an unbeatable gastronomic...
