If you are looking for a quick fix this is decent, clean local neighbourhood Indian food spot. The food is ok (but very very very salty) but it’s the fresh Naan made out of the Tandoor is what makes this place worth coming to. We have been coming here for a few years now. However a word of advice..If you want to have the best experience don’t dine - we’d suggest take out.
Unfortunately, over the years complacency has become the theme of this establishment. So if you are looking for service we highly encourage you to seek another spot as this is not the place for you.
Although the restaurant is empty your will find that the staff just stands around and not want to help. Your empyt plate will sit at the end of your table likely for thre better part of your stay.
Food:
Ok.. so it’s a small buffet with a vegetarian and non vegetarian side along with a separate salad bar. there is also a small dessert island with some previously frozen cakes. They also have an ice cream bin. the recently added a makeshift kiddy station with pizza, wings, fries.
If you are familiar with Indian cuisine, they also offer Dosa’s and have a chaat station.
As mentioned previously they make fresh naan’s but you are waiting and hoping that staff will come in and place your order. We’d suggest you just go up to the tandoor window where the staff just stand around and do nothing and place your own order. You can then hit the buffet, get your food and circle back for your Naan on the way back to the table. If you don’t .. you’ll likely wait 15 or more mins for someone to take your order and you gotta hope that they don’t forget.
Dine is $21.47 including tax (without tip - then again can’t see why you’d want to leave one) gets you all you can eat and with the Naan I think it’s good value.
The do have a liquor licence and they have an extensive Indian sweet bar if you are looking for gifts. They also sell samosa’s.
What totally ruins the place is the horrible service which is why the two star rating. If you are coming for a quick fix and accept the service you’ll likely like it and...
Read moreWorst Restaurant! Spoilt the whole day of me and my friends! First of all, these guys have big posters outside saying "Hot fresh jalebi on Saturday and Sunday" but that is not true. When we went inside and asked the staff, she simply said "No we dont have" without giving any reason. We were kind of disheartened by that still we thought it's ok. Now the main part! The servers beautifully framed the sentence in such a cunning way that we got confused and got charged extra in the end! Here is the whole thing - She came to our table, asked us if we wanted any masala dosa or papdi chaat. Me and my friends were confused so we asked her if it was included in buffet or charged extra? She said its included so we orderd some masala dosa and papdi chat too. Then smartly along with that she asked us if we wanted drinks too with them? so we ordered bunch of drinks along with them. This is the bad part! IT IS HER RESPONSIBILTY TO MENTION AND COMMUNICATE IF THE DRINKS AREN'T INCLUDED IN BUFFET BUT SHE DIDN'T! She had neither provided any kind of menu of anything where it was written that drinks aren't included in buffet and asked about the drinks with the masala dosa thing which was complimentary. And in the end a big bill came, which was around 40$ extra than what we had predicted so basically we ended up paying for an extra person. The guy at the reception (might be the owner) seemed very rude. We tried to explain him that the staff didn't mention that drinks aren't included in buffet and they asked that thing along with masala dosa and papdi chat which was complimentary. But the owner wasnt ready to listen even a bit. Disheartened we paid the bill and went away but will never come back to this buffet restaurant again! Tandoori Flames and other buffet restaurants are much better and their staff also communicates properly. Hope this review helps you guys so you dont get scammed by...
