Restaurant is a service industry, and when you go out to eat, you expect to be served well and always anticipate better service. I was very disappointed when my friend and I went to Magadhi Restaurant with the expectation of being served South Indian food with better and superior service. Disappointment struck when nobody was present at the front desk, and after waiting for 3-4 minutes, we seated ourselves at a corner table. It was fortunate that there was a service bell on the table; otherwise, we might have had to wait for 15-20 minutes. We had already decided what to order, so we ordered one Rava Dosa and one plate of Sambhar Idli, along with a cup of tea. After about 15 minutes, the Sambhar Idli was served, and upon asking about the Rava Dosa, we were informed in a very unprofessional manner that it was on its way. Surprisingly, the Sambhar Idli had turned cold, and after another 15 minutes, the Rava Dosa was served, accompanied by a very insincere "Sorry" in English, as taught to the staff. We couldn't believe that even the basic etiquettes of hospitality were overlooked, and we were not even served water. The most disappointing aspect was that the orders for two people were served at intervals of 30 minutes. The staff seemed very unprofessional (you could say they seemed to be hired for minimum payment, probably international students, lacking knowledge of food industry responsibilities and etiquettes). We were not served water until we finished our meal, and the most frustrating part was that we had to wait for 5-7 minutes at the counter just to pay our bill, which was something we didn't want to do. After waiting for quite a while and still not being attended to for payment, we returned without paying. We will go back only to settle their bill, but never again for a meal. Extremely...
Read moreToday we dined at this restaurant, and while the food was decent—probably a solid 3.5 to 4 stars—the overall experience was severely lacking due to poor service and management.
From the moment we arrived, the restaurant was chaotic. The aisles were crowded with people waiting for tables, making it nearly impossible to navigate to our own seats. The noise level was overwhelming, adding to the sense of disorder.
The real issue, however, was the service. We had ordered 7-8 items, and as we were finishing our meal—my plate had only one bite left and my wife was in line to pay the bill—a server approached us with the most bizarre and irritating question I've ever encountered in a restaurant: "How much time will you need to finish your food?"
I was taken aback by this question, especially given the circumstances. We were eating continuously without breaks or interruptions, so it was clear we were nearing the end of our meal. When I asked the server how long he thought it would take based on what was left on my plate, he dismissively responded that it didn’t matter because the next customers were waiting.
This encounter was deeply frustrating. Dining out is supposed to be a pleasant experience, a time to enjoy good food and company, not to feel rushed and pressured. The restaurant's disregard for this basic principle made our visit incredibly disappointing. I won't be returning, and I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone who values a relaxed and enjoyable...
Read moreI have been to Magadhi restaurant last week for the very first time and liked their menu. Food is delicious and they offer special breakfast combo on weekends which offers you masala dosa, vada, Idli, pongal, poori, aloo bhaji, sambhar, kesari bhaat and 3 types chutneys on single plate. You get to taste different options with one single option with complete value to money.
Beyond dosas, the restaurant offers an array of other South Indian staples, including idlis, vadas, and uttapams, all prepared with the same attention to detail and authenticity. The sambar and chutneys served alongside are bursting with flavor, perfectly complementing the main dishes.
South Indian Delight not only excels in its food but also in providing a genuine taste of Southern India. Whether you’re a long-time fan of South Indian cuisine or trying it for the first time, this restaurant promises a memorable and satisfying meal. Highly recommended for value to money.
Best thing about the place is no waiting at restaurant or parking constraints over the weekend and service bell...
