La Guanaquita — Restaurant in Brampton

I have been to this place several times, with family members. A friend and I decided to go today, I had told her about the delicious food and she had never been there. I am extremely embarrassed to have recommended this place, and will not go there again nor will I recommend it, despite the food being good.

The service can be rated less than 0. The restaurant was not full, there were about 2-3 other tables with customers yet the waiter was serving all of them before us (we had ordered first). The waiter's attitude was insulting and demeaning and a bit discriminatory, as if he was doing us a favour. The first thing we asked for was water, which never came until my friend stood up to ask for it as we were leaving the restaurant - unbelievable. We each ordered a soup. The first soup arrived about 20 minutes later and the second one, about 30 minutes after the first one, after twice getting up and asking the waiter what was taking so long. He simply responded it wasn't ready and it was being prepared. Couldn't he have said when we first ordered it that it wasn't available? When we complained about the service and that we would tell the owner, he simply said "do whatever you want", "you can tell my wife". Well, his wife should be aware of the awful and unacceptable service at her business. It would seem the waiter, who appears to be her husband, doesn't care.

This is not the only Salvadorean place in town, and I guess it's time to put this one aside and not go back. My suggestion is...before anyone goes to this place, call and ask who will be serving. You don't want to have that attitude when you are out and about having a good time...

No STAR what so ever ... My Gosh it was horrible, was there for the first time with my hubby, son and sons friend; Hubby and me ordered breakfast and my son and friend two pupusas each..... waitress she never mention her name just remember she had a ring on her nose so you may know who she is... took half hr. to bring menus then another half hr to take order the we waited 35 min she showed up with three drinks and she said "ill bring the other drink in a minute oh and the straws too she didnt, took another 40 min for her to come with the other drink and still no straws so we just drank it, after another 40 min the two breakfast came, but with no tortillas so i asked she said "in a min" another 25 min went by and no tortillas, no pupusas for my son or his friend so i called her and she said "in a min" so my sons two pupusas came and still no tortillas...so we just eat but my sons friend had no food until another 20 min. im no kidding this took all my Sunday, so embarrassed my sons friend had to wait for so long without eating, we couldn't wait to eat with him because everything was cold already...forget the tortillas ...when we were almost done she said too many pupusas in the griddle couldnt make the tortillas .....game me some chips, oh my gosh never seen anything like it......to top it off my hubby was too embarrassed not to tip her, so he tipped her :( (Plates for the pupusas were like side plate, so small plates...

First time visiting here and honestly i am not impressed… not with the food ( the two items I had were okay ) . The service seems to be very slow and forgetful or we weren’t important enough to be attended to otherwise . We asked for a table of two and placed our order at the front . A family sat beside us and had ordered when they had gotten in … all though we ordered about 20 minutes ahead they had gotten food first. They also received condiments and bottles of sauce for the food . I understand we are a table of two compared to a table of 5 but are we not able to have the same eating experience ? Only two things we ordered showed up … (after about 30-40 minutes ) . At this point we had finished waiting and seen two other tables that came in after us get papusas . I was not happy at this point and just requested to pay the bill. Server wasn’t even aware we didn’t get papusas and had it left on the bill until I pointed it out . Received no compensation and still paid the bill. ( that’s fine I don’t expect charity) what threw me off was the fact that we were charged for the water ! I have not heard of a restaurant where you purchase food and they bill you for the water too ! Safe to say I won’t be coming back here and steering anyone clear of this place if they ask… there was maybe 10-15 people in the restaurant .. not an excuse to be...
