After watching a lot of reels of this restaurant and seeing pictures of their food on google, we came to try it for its Amrtisari Kulcha and Kesar-Dhaba Thaali. So this was our first-time coming to the restaurant and we drove approx 45-50km to get there.
Having read some not-so pleasant google reviews about this restaurant beforehand about long wait-times and delayed food service with some reviews mentioning upto 1 hour wait for food delivery after ordering, I was skeptical about Majha Heights and after much thought we cancelled our plan to go to Gurulakshmi restaurant and came here.
We were a party of 3 with myself and my senior parents. I called up the restaurant and spoke to Raman who answered the phone very nicely and assured us to get us a table with just 20 mins of notice. Chahi, our pleasant server, took our order and got our food delivered within 15 mins. Food was served by sweet and ever-smiling Sukhjeet.
Coming to the food that included Amritsari Kulcha, Kesar-Dhaba Thaali and Tawa Aloo Parantha...
The Amrtisari Kulcha was fantatstic and the accompaning chhole with the Kulcha was also very good. Good thing about the chhole was that it did not reek of strong Meetha-Soda smell which is the case with chhole at other establishments. Chhole gave a feeling of being "Peepe vaale chhole"- authentic Amrtisari Kulche-vaale chhole- which are done without tempering to keep them light on the tummy as an accompaniment to the heavy butter-laden Kulcha. 10/10 for the Amritsari kulcha.
Kesar-Dhaba Thaali was amazing too. One of the best Lachcha paranthas in Toronto, easily!! with lots, and I really mean LOTS, of butter served with Chhole & Ghar-vaali Maa-di daal with lots of desi-ghee in both. Maa-di daal and chhole both were delicious as well. The Thali is indeed very good and authentic in taste althought extremely heavy. 10/10 for the Kesar-Thaali if one can handle the ghee & butter.
My mother could not have The Kesar Thaali coz of over-dose of ghee & butter so we ordered Aloo-Parantha without butter and Chahi made sure we got our running order without much delay in spite of the restaurant getting busier. However, we did not like the Aloo parantha since the stuffing was sparingly done. It could have been better stuffed and packed with more flavors.
All in all, the food was very good (except aloo parantha). The tag-line on their poster claims to bring authentic taste of Punjab to Brampton and the restaurant certainly does full justice to it and walks the talk with its Amritsari Kulcha and Kesar-Dhaba Thaali.
Although, the food is definitely good and authetic BUT with a caveat that it is extremely heavy. May be, they could give customers/guests an option of having the food with less butter or desi-ghee, since the guests especially the ones visiting for the first time would not know the amount of butter-ghee they will be dealing with. Especially, for seniors (and even young), the food is on the heavier side. May be, next time we go there, we will request for either no butter or less butter in our food.
Thank you Raman/Chahi/Sukhjeet for your kind help, service and giving us a wonderful experience. We were impressed by their positive and friendly behavior. All three ladies are the shining jewels of...

I joined the waitlist around 11:20 AM – which I think is a great system to manage traffic. However, the waitlist had no estimated time, which made it hard to plan. By the time we checked in around 12 PM, we were told 30 minutes more. Realistically though, we ended up waiting 3 hours and 30 minutes, 3 of those hours standing outside the restaurant.
Finally, when we were seated, it was unfortunately on the worst seat in the house – right in front of the door where big groups and families waiting were literally hovering over us, kids jumping near our table, and people staring at our food and drinks. It was very uncomfortable. A proper waiting area would go a long way in improving this. Thankfully, after mentioning this to our server, she shifted us one table over, which was slightly better.
We placed our order, and while we were told 30 minutes, it actually took 45+ minutes, and only came after we reminded the staff. This explained why the waitlist wasn’t moving much – delays in serving meant slower table turnover.
Now, on to the food – I’ll give credit where it’s due. The food was tasty and enjoyable. However, the long wait overshadowed the experience. We ended up eating quickly in about 15–20 minutes just because the environment was too crowded and uncomfortable.
Key Takeaways / Suggestions: Provide estimated wait times on the waitlist – and make them realistic when guests ask. Create a separate waiting area – since you’re drawing big crowds, people need a comfortable spot to wait. Otherwise, most won’t return no matter how tasty the food is (4 hours for kulcha is just not feasible). Reconsider tables 1 & 2 – seating guests directly in front of a queue of people is not pleasant. Door management – have someone at the entrance guiding people: no reservation? Please either do takeout or join the waitlist (but don’t crowd around diners). Staffing – ensure enough staff is available to handle both the service and turnover, so orders don’t take longer than promised.
In summary – the food was good, but the experience needs serious improvement to make it...
Read moreIf I could give zero stars, I would. Unfortunately, 1 star is the minimum. This is our honest review as a family who visited this place for the very first time.
We had a really bad experience with the customer service. When we arrived, the girl at the front desk told us the wait time was 15 minutes. We said we would wait outside and asked them to call us when the table was ready. We waited outside for over an hour but never got a call. When we went back in to check, the girl at the front was very rude and told us to wait 5 more minutes because they were cleaning the table. Finally, after more than an hour, we were seated.
I understand that weekends are busy, but the service here was terrible. The floor was dirty, and under our table it was even worse. After sitting down, it took another 10–15 minutes for a server to come to take our order. Then we were told the food would take another 30 minutes, but we ended up waiting 1 hour and 30 minutes for it. We kept asking the staff, but they ignored us.
When the food finally came, I found an insect in the chutney while I was halfway through eating. We told the girl at the counter, but she didn’t seem to care at all and didn’t even apologize.
We were already starving, so we decided to leave and asked for the bill. To top it off, we ordered 3 kulchas but only got 2—and they still charged us for the third one. When we tried to explain this, the girl at the counter was very rude and wouldn’t listen. After arguing for sometimes, finally we got our money back which was charged extra.
I also shared my feedback on their Instagram page, but they deleted my comment and blocked my profile. That was just shocking and unprofessional.
