Good place to go and learn about art and the court and jail in old Brampton. There are few parking for visitors inside the art complex. The art gallery entrance is not at all expensive and it is free of you have canoo app. This place is divided to some 3-4 building. There are some portion where some work was ongoing. We went on Sunday afternoon and it was relatively free. First building where we went had 2 art shows going on. It is good for intellectuals who enjoy art. So, I was more impressed not by this part but other areas. They have preserved an old court room. You need to take the guided tour of the old court. The guide explained really well and view takes you right into the past. The architecture is also worth noting. It seems they rent this place for movie shooting and other events too. In that same building there is a ball room type room where there is a high ceiling too. The other building houses an old jail. They have an audio presentation of the person who spent time in solitary confinement too. On the entrance to the jail there is also a display of the atrocities that the indigenous kids of Canada had to undergo in the so called residential school. It was a reminder of the horrible past of Canada and the sufferings of those innocent kids. It really made me think about the privilege that we are enjoying compared to these kids. They also have some painting they do on the outside wall and the locality in which this place is situated has a beautiful park too.

I'm not into history, but the Peel Art Gallery, Museum and Archives was in close proximity to my accommodations. The initial "art" was not my thing but I'm sure some will find it interesting. I was lucky enough to have a guided tour of the courthouse (even snapped myself on the Judge's bench ๐Ÿ˜). Once I stepped inside of a prisoner's "cell" I instantly knew why I was always a law-abiding citizen ๐Ÿ˜‚ The video of me actually in the cell; the claustrophobia was all too real. I was abruptly reminded of how far we've progressed as a people when I saw a 3.5" floppy ๐Ÿ’พ and a yo-yo among the museum's displays. All in all, I don't regret the visit, and the admittance fee was reasonable ๐Ÿ™‚

Went there on a weekday and not too busy I was pleasantly surprised at how many things there are to see. If you compare it to a bigger museum itโ€™s smaller in comparison but I think itโ€™s pretty solid Iโ€™d say it takes you around 1 hour to go through everything. It is $6 right now, which is nice We went in and were greeted by the staff who were kind to explain where everything is and where their favorite exhibits are. My favorite exhibit is the courtroom as you can go in and explore, as well as take pictures in it. There is also a jail, a space that explores black history, exhibits of space and more. Would recommend going for a fun activity downtown.

One of the greatest hidden gems of Peel Region. Although the jail is really neat, there is actually very little of it to explore and see (3 cells total). I feel that this jailhouse is so small that it should have all been kept originally intact, and not mostly converted into archives and a very small museum on the second floor. That could have been done in any building in Peel Region, why convert a timeless piece of Ontario's history into a mostly modern museum showcase? It would have been nice to see all of the inner jail inside in its entirety. Instead there is barely anything left inside for people to see. Also, the courthouse is not regularly open to the public. I was lucky enough to see it with a tour guide but I was informed it's not always open which is a shame since it is very beautiful and fits in with the jailhouse tour. The art gallery is nice but very small. At least it's all included in one...

Very interesting building with unique architecture. Lots of interesting exhibits for me and my family to view and make a day trip out of.

Staff at the front desk were very helpful and approachable, as well as behind the scenes staff.

The worst part of my visit to PAMA was the rudeness of one staff member who although did not interact with me and my family, was quite a negative presence in the facility towards other staff members and we found quite unprofessional. The woman, who i believe other staff called Simone(?), was condescending and rude to other staff members who seemed to be working on building maintenance will we were walking through the facility. Although this did not directly affect our visit to PAMA it was a bit awkward at the time and left a sour taste in our mouths in terms...
