If you're a food enthusiast, you know the joy of discovering a new cuisine that captures your heart. For my family and me, this discovery came in the form of NKB, a Tamil Nadu restaurant right next door. Before NKB, we had never experienced Tamil Nadu's unique flavors, and I can confidently say it has been a delightful journey ever since they opened their doors.
From the very first visit, the team at NKB, especially Dhanapal, Manjunath, and their colleagues, made our experience exceptional. Not only are they friendly and polite, but they also take the time to explain the dishes, the ingredients, and the cultural significance behind each dish. Their passion for Tamil Nadu cuisine shines through, and it makes my every visit feel like a mini culinary adventure.
What stands out the most is the quality of the food. Every dish is made fresh, with the perfect balance of flavors and spices, tailored to our taste preferences. Whether it’s the rich, aromatic curries or the biryanis, Chicken Chukka / 65 / Chettinadu , NKB has never disappointed. The attention to detail in preparation and presentation shows that they truly understand the art of cooking and the power of food to connect people.
I have ordered from NKB countless times, and each meal has been consistently fantastic. If you're in the area and haven’t tried Tamil Nadu food yet, I strongly recommend paying them a visit. You’re in for a treat that will leave your taste buds dancing. Missing out on this culinary experience would be a shame.
A big thank you to NKB for enriching our community with the authentic, aromatic flavors of Tamil Nadu. Wishing you all continued success—Cheers to many more delightful...
Read moreA tasty biryani will have every rice immersed with intense flavour of Chicken along with Spices used. Just one bite of biryani rice is good enough to determine the Savor of complete plate or Tray. This wedding style Chicken biryani (I bought) doesn't even need any sides to experience the completeness of the Meal. However, combination of Brinjal curry with the biryani can definately elevate the eating experience which I missed since there was no briyani curry available to my luck. Though the Biryani was made out of Basmati rice, left nothing behind on Aroma and tastiness but could imagine how the biryani would taste with Mutton and Seeraga Samba rice (Ambur Style) combo. Not to miss out Biryani Styles Available here: Chicken and Mutton on Wedding Style; Ambur Style and Hyderabadi Style.
Felt Overwhelmed with one of the random pick and rare find place around Brampton region from a Cloud Kitchen name called... "Namma Kadai Biryani".
After finishing up the Biryani, remembered a saying where we use to tell Backhome... "Enda Biryani senja Kaiku Thangatla Kaapu Senju Podnm nu, ana enga Vairam eh Podlam".
And he is none other than...

About the biriyani (we ordered the chicken biriyani, since the mutton biriyani was already sold out)
-- biriyani masala level is on point with 'Tamil Nadu' level. This is not the "westernized" / "mild" version. This is a big plus for me and for anyone who feels they miss the "masala level" they ate back home.
-- spice-heat level is also on point with "back-home" level. I have a separate pointer for this one because there is a difference between biriyani masala level and chilli level. Some places mess with this and the taste gets screwed up.
-- quantity and meat tenderness was very good. The rice was cooked perfectly as well
-- price point for the quantity and quality of the biriyani is very good.
Overall opinion - We have tried about 3 tamil biriyani places as of now and this one tops the list. Of course, we have more places to try - but to beat this place is going to be...
