Heard about this through TikTok. Have liked their food from India and it immediately became a must visit place.
Ordered Goat curry, Dal Makhani, Malai chicken tikka, chicken almond (badami) balls and breads. Set us back $100/-
The starters were ok, we didn’t like the fried chicken almond balls but that’s ok. It was something new and we wanted to try it. The chutney with it was good and goes really well with the dish.
The main course is where most of the issue was. It had too much spice for us, not chilli but other spices ( garam masalas for the desi junta). Even Dal Makhani. Tip - if you wanna see what real dal makhani should taste like, try ranveer brars recipe from youtube. The goat curry had too much oil, we removed one bowl of oil from a full plate and the dish still had plenty of oil. The meat itself was nicely cooked and was tender so that was a plus.
The spice level just spoiled the experience for us. The best thing we found was the lachcha paratha so you know how our experience was.
Note to self- take TikTok videos with a pinch of salt next time.
Also, the hole in the joint restaurant doesn’t do justice to the brand name at all and was a big turn off to...
Read moreI have nothing against the business, but this was one of the worst customer service i ever had in my life Every-time we go to a restaurant it doesn’t matter if its here or back-home,The first thing on the table is water Even after finishing our food the lady didn’t offer water even after asking for like 4 times We ordered 4 paranthas 2 aloo,1 gobhi and 1 paneer with raita and after that saag Parantha’s was good thats why i rated it one star raita was horrible When we came there were only 2 people that is me and my friend At that time two girls were working After taking the order, they did go to the kitchen and never asked if we need something else or not and i was wondering since they were inside the kitchen door . I really appreciate the casual dining experience with punjabi manja’s and all but whats the point when there’s no music or tv system playing It was one of the worst experiences we had and i would say i won’t be coming here any soon There are a-lot of Indian places nearby which have better customer service The dining experience outside is pretty poor. After seeing all that videos on TikTok i would this place is overhyped, So don’t waste your...
Read moreI recently decided to grab some chole bhature because I was in the suburbs and craving some authentic Indian food. I was a bit skeptical because it’s a tiny place in the corner of a strip mall. It wasn’t fancy; it had two tables to eat at and a counter to order food at.
Personally, this is one of the best chole bhature I’ve had. My review may be skewed by the fact that I don’t have access to good Indian food in the city or it could be because it tasted like home cooked food. This wasn’t poori dough repurposed into a bhatura.
There were 2 medium sized bhature, a serving of chole, some pickle and an amazing side dish of onion in mint chutney. While I’m a fan of pickled carrots, the onion in mint chutney is something I haven’t encountered before.
The food tasted so good! The chole was the thick, black chole you usually get in Delhi and not the watery, red curry that I’m accustomed to in Toronto. Layer in the onions in the mint chutney and the complexity of the flavours were chefs kiss.
Highly recommend. If you do order takeaway, remember to reheat it in an oven...
