My experience here was exceptionally disappointing, and I cannot, in good conscience, recommend this establishment to anyone seeking quality food or service.
Chicken 65: What was served as “Chicken 65” was essentially a few hard-to-find pieces of chicken buried in an overwhelming layer of red chili paste and whole red chilies. Frankly, it would be more accurate to label this dish “Poison 65,” as it tasted so poorly that it ended up in the trash after a single bite. The portion size was also laughably small.
Kashmiri Roganjosh: This dish, recommended as their “best mutton item,” was another serious letdown. What was delivered was a greasy tomato-based gravy with a few sparse pieces of mutton that resembled popcorn rather than real cuts of meat. The taste was so subpar that, like the Chicken 65, it found its way to the garbage bin.
Hyderabadi Chicken Dum Biryani: The so-called biryani was a mere imitation of what an authentic biryani should be. Living nearby, I would have gladly picked up biryani from this place regularly, but after this experience, I am staying away from this restaurant permanently.
Service and Staff: The staff were highly unprofessional. Although my order was already packed and waiting for pickup on the table, they kept me waiting for 10 minutes, leaving to get another order that wasn’t mine. When I finally brought this to their attention, they admitted they “got confused”—confused by what, exactly, when mine was the only order ready?
This kind of reckless, dismissive attitude toward customers is all too common in some South Asian restaurants in town, and it’s experiences like this that drive people away from their cuisine. Out of every ten visits to South Asian restaurants, this kind of encounter reinforces why we often avoid them.
Management and Transparency: The management appears uninterested in addressing customer concerns or improving service. Instead, they seem more focused on operating cash-only “discounts” that appear to be a ploy to avoid taxes. Offering a “10% discount” for cash payments is displayed prominently behind the cashier—a likely attempt to underreport income by bypassing the full 13% HST.
I hope this review is taken seriously so that future patrons who take the risk of visiting this restaurant can get what they pay for and avoid the kind of disappointing...
Read moreWe ordered food yesterday evening from here, it was a pickup order. When we were placing the order, we specifically asked them to not make it spicy, we even declined the spicy options recommended fo us by the person who recieved the phone call and very specifically told them that please don't make it spicy. She told us that she will ask the chef to not make the food spicy, the reason I am writing this because thats how our order was placed and the restaurant assured us that they will not make it spicy. The food order we recieved, in that the biryani was so spicy, that just by eating two spoons that too with curd, my face turned red, I could feel sweat in my head and a burning sensation in my food pipe. I drank water, cola and ice cream to calm myself down as it was ultra spicy, beyond my expectation. I have eaten from other restaurants also and have not experienced what I experienced last night. The problem did not end here, since morning I have been feeling pain in my esophagus valve, which is a clear sign that the food triggered GERD Acid Reflux Pain and have had to take medicine (Pentosec DSR) to treat this uneasiness which I have been feeling since morning. You can google this medicine to check for what purpose it is taken. I am not exaggerating anything nor I want any discount from them, my main concern is that if a customer requests your restaurant to prepare food in a particular manner, and if you are incapable to do that then you should atleast let the customer know that we cannot fulfill your requirements. They are not concerned about my medical condition but I am concerned about my health and I have paid them for the food and I expect them to address my requirements while preparing the food. I still have that biryani in the refrigerator, if they want then they are most welcome to taste what they have made. Adding a photo of...
Read moreHello foodies today I bring you an amazing review . This is a fairly new restaurant that opened in the last 6 months or so in this location. NAWAB SAAB prides its self and specializes in its rich variety of biryanis, and grilled kabobs . They also have a variety of other indian main dishes on thier menu. Its located in the Sandlewood Plaza iwith Dollar Store ,Metro , Tim Hortons , Mcdonads , Td bank and with many other stores . They have both dine-in and takeout options. Seems like a nice clean place. With all thier biryani selection I had to give this place a try and with over 100 mostly great reviews on google it was time to stop in and grab some biryani. Food 5/5 I opted for thier lucknow chicken biryani from thier extensive list of options ranging from vegetarian to mutton etc. All I have to say is these guys hit it out of the park in every way . This biryani was by far the best I have ever had by a long shot , yum!! Just tasty fabulous and absolutley a very generous portion . I think alot of restaurants out thier could use this place as an example for generous portions ..this is what brings customers back over and over! The dish was loaded with chicken and overflowing with rice. Thank you to the owners for amazing customer service and generosity in their serving size I really feel like I got my money worth . The chicken was super tender so deeply flavorful loaded and I mean loaded with a thick pasty spicey gravy that not only made the chicken wonderful and full of flavour but the rice was also just perfectly bathed in this gravy making it moist with every bite. Warning it does have a strong heat level but it combines so perfectly with all the spices in chicken and rice. Dilicious and a must try if you love biryanis and spicey food!!!
Service 5/5 outstanding , I recomend this place if your...
