The Spice Route — Restaurant in Brampton

Found this place few months ago and have been ordering takeout multiple times an month from here. I was extremely happy. Despite the long wait even after ordering over the phone or online, I continued ordering from here because the food was so good! Consistently I have waited a minimum of 10 minutes to get my order even though I arrive 20 minutes after my order is supposed to be ready. Even when they gave me the wrong order, I didn’t feel the need to complain because the food was just so delicious.

Unfortunately that’s no longer the case. This past weekend I placed an order for momos (tandoori veg momos and chilli fried veg momos). I was told it would be ready in 20 minutes. I arrived 45 minutes later. After waiting a few minutes, I was finally acknowledged by the hostess. After giving her my name and order, she disappeared in the back without a word and didn’t appear for another few minutes. When she came back she told me it’ll be 2-4 minutes more. When I asked why it was taking so long, she said she still has to pack it. She handed the machine for me to pay and disappeared again. She came back few minutes later and without a word handed me my order.

When I checked my order at home, the momos looked completely foreign. I have previously ordered momos from here many times before and it did not look the same. I called to verify if it indeed was the correct order, I was told yes they were indeed vegetarian momos and that they had just changed the shape of their momos. When I cut into the momos it had a dark blackish/brown filling in both. The Chilli momos that usually is covered in red gravy was also covered in a dark brownish gravy. Neither items looked like they had in my previous orders. Nor did they taste remotely the same. It was disgusting and I ended up tossing it out.

Your amazing food always kept me coming back regardless of the customer service experience and wait times. But with terrible food and terrible service, I will definitely not...

I have ordered from this place a few times now and I have tried both of their Indian and Indian Hakka Chinese cuisines. I must say the food that they serve for both cuisines is absolutely phenomenal. Each cuisine has its speciality. For the Indian cuisine, they have Punjabi Style Tari Wala Chicken, Murg Saag, Panner Lababdar and Haryali Chicken Tikka. For the Indian Hakka Cuisine, their momos are fantastic. They have such a variety of moms, from grilled to gravy to steam and they taste so amazing. The soups that are also available in the Indian Hakka Cuisine are fabulous. I myself recommend the Talumein soup Chicken. The tangara masala chicken in gravy and the chicken lollipop in snacks are my favorite. The really spend their time in perfecting each dish and the taste is absolutely amazing. I usually go ahead and pick the food from the restaurant itself and I have never had to wait for my food. The time I was told that my food will be ready is exactly when I get the food. I have also met the owner of the restaurant and he takes care of his customers and asks for feedback. 2 months back I had given a very good rating but after my recent experience I would like to change my review and say that we will not be visiting this restaurant again. The food is made very tasty and decently and nice portion size, which which why we were regular customers since the last 5 months. But recently their customer service is terrible.

The two women who were taking orders and processing were having a very bad attitude and unfriendly approach. They not only delayed our order but they also blamed it on us by making excuses.

We are really disappointed because we really enjoyed our visits. They are one of the few restaurants that are open late until 2am, and many times after work we would come for tasty food. We mostly always interacted with the night shift staff who were quite decent but when we went during the evening shift first time we were disappointed. The night shift staff even knew us because we came so regularly. It is so sad, we will definitely miss the food and convenient location but we cannot compromise on bad customer service.
