This is my first time ever writing a review, but I had to. Pretty bad experience. This place is self-serve, and although I have no problem with that, it was chaos the moment we entered. We waited forever for a table, even though there were quite a few empty ones. The issue was that almost all of them were filthy and there was only one bus boy,who took forever to ''clean'' one of them for us. We were a party of four, and on top of that, we had a baby with us, yet not a single staff member seemed concerned that we were waiting by a dirty table, hoping to get it cleaned so we could seat the baby.
Finally, after asking him a few times, the bus boy came by to wipe our table down, and the best part is, he left the table soaking wet and dirtier than it was before we sat down. We ended up cleaning it ourselves with napkins. He had a terrible attitude, and literally looked like he did not want to be there at all..( a sentiment we were starting to share with him :/)
The booth was disgustingly filthy, there was some white gooey stuff by my head and actual coffee drippings that had dried on the booth. They messed up our order and there was literally no space at all for four people to comfortably sit or stand for that matter.
To be fair, the food was ok, small portion sizes though and the manager did come by our table when they messed up our order, which we appreciated. Huge wait at the coffee station for re-fills, it was just plain bad. To think you have to get up every time, and then wait in line to fill your mug up is terrible. Needless to say we will not be going back .
Word of Advice to the Staff: Please make sure tables are cleaned as soon as customers leave, especially when the table is empty. Also, perhaps the owner should look into serving coffee at their customer's tables, at the very least, so the customer's dining experience is not interrupted and they don't have to wait in line to have a cup of coffee on a Sunday morning that should have...
Read moreFound this place on Google and decided to try it with family for late breakfast.
Good things: Rye toast, fries, home fries, freshly squeezed orange juice, place is clean including the bathrooms which also has papertowel 🙏, staff were pleasant. We ate all our food...wouldn't want to waste our $100 for our first meal of the day.
Things I am willing to overlook: asking to order, pay and TIP before even sitting down getting my own tea/coffee I think I was also supposed to get my own utensils but they were gracious enough to bring them to table after they brought our food and realized we'd missed the assignment dishwashing liquid for handsoap in bathroom the waitress telling me the chicken Alfredo was actually shrimp and walking away when I told her I ordered shrimp, and me having to get up from my table to bring it back to them and the 30 second pause and looking around awkwardly before taking it out of my hand and bringing it to the kitchen. the what felt like 15 minute wait to get our bacon crispy the what felt like 15 minute wait to replace chicken Alfredo with shrimp, it arrived when the rest of us were almost done eating getting the side order of bacon delivered when I was ¾ through meal the over abundance of carrots, broccoli, and cauliflower in the shrimp Alfredo
What I won't overlook: a single Kraft/Black Diamond processed cheese slice in my spinach omelet which I found after after opening up the omelet to see if they'd remembered the cheese what appears to be powdered scrambled eggs ... definitely not real eggs old tasting, unseasoned ground beef in the burger zero use of seasoning in any of the dishes the fact that we had to generously employ ketchup and salt to make the food edible. tasteless Alfredo sauce....blasphemy!
We will not return. It will also take some time before I trust Google reviews again; it hurts to be let down by...
Read moreWe hosted a post wedding brunch for 37 people at this restaurant. Our wedding was held at Toronto Pearson Convention Centre and was the closest restaurant to hold the event.
This restaurant is not fancy, decor is minimal, it is a local diner, food prepared fresh; a homestyle menu. The staff was easy to work with, we discussed a standard menu of 2 eggs, choice of ham, bacon or sausage, toast, home fries, with avocado and tomato slices. I should have realized that when I ate I had 3 eggs not 2, that they forgot our agreed upon menu. The cooks were so sweet and passionate about serving us, I could not begrudge the extra price of the avocado that was suppose to be a substitute for the egg. Each person got 1/2 an avocado so all is well. I just would suggest if having an event for a group be clear in your expectations.
The portions were substantial, the food came out hot, with a self serve coffee and Tetley tea option. The restaurant had a regular stream of customers, so we had booked the back section of the restaurant for our group. The owners only required 3 days notice to confirm numbers which is helpful because you sometimes invitation lists can fluctuate greatly.
I also wanted to mention that they did not include a gratuity automatically. Often with groups over 8 they include the tip. It was nice to have that flexibility to decide how generous we wanted to be. Definitely a nice spot to gather without all the...
