I ordered the French toast and asked the girl behind the counter if it comes with maple syrup (I know, it’s horrifying to think some places wouldn’t serve maple syrup with French toast/pancakes)😱 She politely told me “yes”, however when she delivered my box of French toast to the table, I noticed there were only two little containers of the maple blueberry compote - which is to be spread on the French toast. I went back inside and told the girl there was no maple syrup, and after a quick chat with her colleague she replies to me “um so it’s actually either one or the other…” meaning the compote or the maple syrup.
Now, the menu says it comes with blueberry compote… so now I have to pick between that or maple syrup? Well I’m not having my French toast dry so obviously I’m going to choose the syrup. But instead of just handing me a little container of syrup, the girl comes back and takes my little containers of compote BACK! Even after I had opened it to see what was inside (not very COVID friendly either if you ask me).
So now not only was part of my breakfast MISSING - the compote - but I was left with French toast, goat cheese and maple syrup? Isn’t the compote supposed to complement the goat cheese? It’s like ordering a prosciutto arugula pizza and asking for hot sauce then the waitress coming to pick off your prosciutto in exchange for the hot sauce. If the menu clearly says “prosciutto arugula pizza”, why are you taking one of the toppings off ?!? Needless to say, this was mortifying. Good customer service would have just given you the damn maple syrup and not have asked for one of the toppings BACK.
Anyways - since I always like to leave a positive where there’s a negative, the food was delicious (my friends got a breakfast sandwich and a wrap) and the young girl behind the counter was actually...
Read moreLola’s Café is a hidden gem that truly delivers on both flavor and quality. We tried the quiche with butternut soup, black bean quesadilla, and the Opoma Farm beef burger—each dish was packed with fresh ingredients and well-balanced flavors. The quiche was light and creamy, perfectly complemented by the rich, velvety butternut soup. The black bean quesadilla had just the right amount of spice and crunch, making it a satisfying vegetarian option. As for the Opoma Farm beef burger, it was juicy, flavorful, and clearly made with high-quality beef.
To top it all off, we indulged in a variety of homemade tarts, and every single one was a delight! The pastry was perfectly flaky, and the fillings were fresh and not overly sweet.
Lola’s Café offers a cozy atmosphere, friendly service, and an impressive menu that makes it worth coming back to. Definitely a must-visit for anyone who appreciates great food...
Read moreMenu is very small and doesn't have many options. Service was terrible. Most employees seem friendly. But management/owners were rude. When I asked where to put my own dishes I was greeted with attitude and was basically brushed off. All 3 times I have been I have to wait an insane amount of time for my food and they always tell me to sit and wait for my order and then my food comes out. And both times I had waited for my drink, finished my food and had to go back up and inquire about my beverage and it seems to always be placed on a side counter like I was supposed to get it myself, where either my hot bevvy got cold or my iced bevvys ice melted. They definitely need to properly train their staff or change the way they do things because it's not working and ice heard 4 or 5 other locals say they've had the...
