Really enjoyed the food and atmosphere here! Delicious food, great menu options and EXCELLENT prices/value. Will be back! EDIT: I went back. Unfortunately, I need to change my review due to terrible service I received. We ordered the salted egg tofu (still so good) and the chicken ramen. The ramen dish was not what we expected but we’re still excited to try it. But the chicken was very gamey and kinda grey. It just didn’t taste right and we really lost our appetite. We told the server and she just said oh sorry and walked away. We were hoping to order something else but then she never came back to our table. We then just decided to leave only to learn that our server didn’t even tell anyone else and we were still to be charged for the dish. We explained to the lady on cash and she told us that people order this all the time and they’ve never had complaints. Which was frustrating as we weren’t complaining about the dish itself but just the chicken. She did end up not charging us for it, but it was a very awkward experience. I’d like to say I would be back for the salted egg, but I won’t due to the way we were treated. EDIT 2: In response to the edit from Jokim. There was no immediate action after we voiced our concern. No one came back to us to ask further questions, follow up with us or provided further information. The server never came back to us yet checked on the three other tables numerous times. Zero effort was made to satisfy us, as you state. Not to mention the other tables in the restaurant ordered soup dishes and the table behind us had not yet received their food by the time we left. Your response is more concerning than the treatment we experienced tonight. I wish you the best in your continuation as...
Read moreI would give 5 stars but my reason for 3 stars is that the restaurant wasn't even half full we got in sat at our table waited 10 mins with 2 servers before taking our order. Food was great the soy chicken Ramen was way way too much garlic it was like biting into fresh garlic. But main reason was it was not busy and our order took close to 1 hr to wait before we started to get our food it was like only 1 chef in the back cooking for well whole restaurant. Loves the wings was great and all but coming from years in the food industry.which keep in mind its a pet peeve is that hearing the host server telling customers that we are closing cause ran out of stock and saying oh I been here since 1030 am and it wasn't even 4 hrs on severs shift telling guests the tired and they need a break during a lunch hour made my opinions of other reviewers go out the window. Never tell guests your tired we closed and you need to take a break. What if they were actually food critics let alone secret shoppers to rate and review your restaurant. Bad move on their behalf I will go back 1 month from now to see any improvement if not then good luck with the staff who told multiple guests she tired only working few hrs on a not full restaurant that seats maybe 15 to 20 ppl and it was half full. Let's hope they do...
Read moreRecently tried Jokim and it was a little underwhelming. Nothing bad, but nothing great about the meal. Would have been 3 stars, but the value isn't there for what you pay for.
I had ordered the salted egg tofu, bun no hue, mango salad, sausage, and soy chicken garlic ramen. Salted egg tofu lacked flavor. Needs some salt or a dipping sauce. Although you can taste hints of the salted egg, it was pretty bland overall. Bun bo hue was ok. Definitely better places around for it. Portion size of the meat was so little for a large. 2 pieces of Viet style ham, 2 halves of a meatball, 2 small pieces of sliced pork, and 2 pieces of sliced beef came with my order. Does a regular size just get 1 of each then? Mango salad needed more acid/sweetness to it. The sausage also was a little bland. The only dish that actually had a decent amount of flavor was the soy garlic chicken ramen.
Overall, I think there are better options for Vietnamese food across the city. Everything was just a...
