MEX-KELOWNA TACOS — Restaurant in British Columbia

Just got back from trying this place out for the first time.

I've driven past this place so many times and had always told myself I'd give it a try.

My wife and I were about to drive past it until we said "let's do it", very happy that we did.

As soon as we got close we started hearing Mexican music blasting out of the truck with a super friendly smile greeting us.

Prices were decent and the explanation for the food was straight to the point with the recommendation of the #3! Wife got the #1 combo and I grabbed the #3. They came with soup and a drink (soft/water) and coffee or tea for customers only! Also, gluten free is available! (as far as I know since my wife is allergic and nothing has happened after 1 hour)

The owner is very pleasant to talk to and seems to always be in a great mood.

Portions looked small but once I finished eating I was proven wrong. I was full and I normally eat a lot! Great food great atmosphere with good service.

Glad I stopped by and hope to be back soon.

The food was okay, it wasnt the craziest food Ive had in kelowna, nor the worst. The consome has a very very liquid consistency, like water almost, which if you like mexican food would know it shouldnt have, but the tacos were decent. The horchata again felt watered down, ive tried places by the gyro beach which have better horchata if you're going after the decadent and rich consistency of the drink.

the host was working rlly hard and seemed passionate about what he was doing, so 1 star for him! big shocker was not having a menu card/board anywhere on or close to the truck and a whopping $38 bill for 3 tacos and an horchata and then a 10% tip(not only was the food self serve, the wait time was outrageous), which got me so confused and shook. I waited close to 45 minutes to even be asked what we'd like and that was smth too. Honestly, yes i understand the place is good, but are there others that dont anything like this and are equally good? absolutely not.

maybe like a 1 time try if you want to see what all the rave is about but missing it...

I don’t want to leave a bad review out of pure malice. Instead I’d like to leave this review so the owner can learn a thing or two when something’s wrong. I drove by this taco stand as it looked truly authentic and I thought I would give it a try. I ordered 4 tacos 2 chicken 2 pork. I was impressed at the authentic flavour, nothing over the top but good. As I got to my second taco unfortunately I literally almost took my tooth out from a piece of bone then another bite and another piece of bone ! In all, I had to pull out 4 sharp bones out of my mouth in ONE TACO !!! I was truly disappointed and not only that, The owner charges top dollar for 4 tacos it was 24 dollars and the only way to have bones in chicken is buying cheap cuts and braising the meat untill the meat falls off so if this is the case then why can’t he fish out dangerous small sharp bones??? All I can say, if you’re going to charge $6 per taco with a small portion of meat in it, the least you can do is take out dangerous bones that could seriously choke someone or a...
