Not impressed tonight. Will not go back again ever. Got seated. Not busy. Waitress took a long time to brings us our first drinks. Glass of pop so full of ice you couldn’t drink it and barely any pop. Never brought glasses of water until we specifically asked for some. Ordered food. Waited. Asked for a pop refill with no ice. Got a sour face from the waitress not sure why cuz menu clearly says bottomless. Food came. Burger good but had some rock hard cheese thing on it that was pretty much inedible. I ordered prime rib. One word ... AWFUL. Yorkshire pudding had been flattened (by another plate on top?) and the inside of it was raw batter ... yes uncooked. Prime rib was grey on outside with rawish looking (white) fat and pink inside but there was no ‘slow roasting’ of that baby. Looked like it’d been nuked. No garlic in the garlic mashed potato and it was lumpy and lukewarm. I walked up to the bar and told them the Yorkshire was raw and left it there. My waitress came back to the table a couple mins later and asked what I wanted them to do with the meal because I hadn’t said!!! Really? Anyway, I said I would like it cooked properly please. Five mins later it comes back.... the exact same meal with the same flat Yorkshire pudding but cooked more and the rest of the food now served stone cold. So obviously they’d cooked the Yorkshire a bit more and left the rest of the plate of food just sitting there. Gross dinner. It was worse than a school dinner. I’m not usually a complainer but they wanted 18 bucks for that so it ought to be good right? Oh no condiments brought to table either ... no ketchup for fries, no horseradish (prime rib was supposed to have it). So anyway, I left my meal ie never ate it except the first couple of bites. When the bill came yup you guessed it ... full price. Then the waitress came again without warning and snapped up the bill and promptly brought another. She said “we redid your bill because you weren’t happy with the service”. Well They had taken off a grand total of $1.70. Again, really? What a slap in the face. I’ll never go back. Also noted the owner never provides feedback on the bad reviews here Only the good ones. Sunshine Coast is a small place... restaurants have got to put out good food and service or they...
Read moreWe love Ricky's wherever we go but will not be back to this one. We're looking forward to breakfast, but we arrived and the server seated us with an air of 'I'm busy and you're bothering me.' There were a couple of other tables with a customer or 2, and she was the only one on it seemed, until another woman came out dressed in pants T-shirt and a ball cap (not typical attire for a server in any other Ricky's I've been to). Shrugged that all off because everyone has an off day...
Food was good. Until our daughter found a big piece of eggshell in her last bite of Eggs Benny. 🤢 Kind of turned all our stomachs, and when we showed the server she said "Oh, I'll tell them." When she brought the bill, full price, I asked her if 'they' couldn't do something (I didn't think we should have had to pay full price for that bonus feature??!)? She huffed, said 'I don't know what you want me to do. It was eggshell. It happens. But maybe I could take off the tea. I could ask the boss. But I'm really busy.' (still only a handful of others in the restaurant). She grabbed our bill and took it behind a booth, where the person in the ball cap was. 😳 She came back with a new bill with a whole 10% off the Eggs Benny ($1.90).
I always like to give positive reviews, but this was really disappointing. Like I said, everyone has an off day, but not even trying to make it up, rather giving a pat on the hand, poor you, gesture was not at all necessary. Jenny, I never don't leave a tip, but your sad lack of effort did not...
Read moreThis is a nice family restaurant and the food is good. The owner is a very nice person and a real humanitarian, feeding the homeless and less fortunate at Christmas was huge and I thank her for what she does for the community of Sechelt. Having said that there is one particular staff member, not naming her, who is driving away customers because of her mannerism and when the boss isn’t around it is horrendous. The poor dear is always having a bad day and everything that she does wrong or forgets, which is a lot, is blamed on the very bad day. We patronize the restaurant quite often but unless this employee smartens up or let’s say is corrected because I truly believe the later is impossible, we will stop going. Sometimes she’s just downright rude to customers. We’ve been told we can’t sit in a booth when we request a booth, we’ve ordered beverages that never arrived and the big one is the second cup of coffee. OMG what does it take to brew a pot of coffee one hour before closing. We were told that they are out of coffee and they weren’t able to brew another pot so close to closing. Excuse me??? One hour before closing you can’t brew coffee??? We weren’t the only ones in the restaurant wanting coffee either but we were all given the same story. At just over $3.00 a cup if I want a hot refill 15 minutes before closing it should be available. Like I mentioned before, everyone else in this restaurant is very nice and the food is good, but if they want to keep customers this one server...
