After reading the good reviews, I decided to go to this Thai restaurant instead of others in the area, and boy did I get a surprise. This place is quite small with just an average looking interior and no special decor, but the portion sizes and prices are at the fine dining level. I would say that since I moved to Vancouver in 2003 -- and I have eaten almost everywhere in the downtown area -- this really was my biggest rip-off experience yet.

$3 for each rice bowl $2 for each jasmine tea (often free in other places) $7 for a can of beer $18 for one of the pad dishes that had just a few pieces of broccoli, 4 or 5 mushrooms, and 5 prawns $16 for a handful of beef slices with almost no taste $10 for 4 spring rolls filled mainly with vermicelli and no meat inside. Etc.

I'm so tired of places like this that try to pretend they are fine dining by serving small portions in big white plates with little decorations like carrots in the shape of a flower that nobody really cares about or eats, but in the end leave their customers still hungry, unsatisfied, and nearly bankrupt.

This was supposed to be a special meal for someone who is leaving Canada soon, so maybe that is why I feel so much regret about going there. For sure, nobody was super satisfied with the taste of the food (very average and bland), and at a price of almost $120 before tip, I don't think I'm going to be going out anywhere any time soon.

The only good things I can say about this place are that the service was good and it was clean. Other than that, well, I'm just going to say I wish I could go back in time and decide to go to a...

The worst service I've ever experienced at a restaurant. Me and the family went here for mothers day because Mom wanted Thai. Worst decision we could have made. It was twenty minutes before our "server" came by and took our drink order. He got that wrong and brought us stuff we didn't order. Then, we didn't get our food for an entire full hour after ordering. Our server never returned. We were ready to just leave by the time the food arrived, and then my dish wasn't brought out with the rest! Ten minutes went by and I finally had to go up and ask if it was coming. The lady joked and said it was "fresh from the oven". So brutal. The food was small portioned, but incredibly delicious, don't get me wrong. However in this day in age, there's no excuse for brutal service, especially for a hundred dollar meal. Needless to say we weren't asked for drink refills, or asked how things were, or if we needed anything for that matter, you know, typical restaurant stuff, until we were done eating. We weren't offered desert or brought our bill. Then while standing up front trying to pay our bill so we could leave this mess, I watched the other server completely mix up the dishes of two other tables, who seemed just as frustrated as us. So for the first time in my life, I didn't tip at all. Now here's the strangest part: when we were walking to our car, we passed our "server" going the other way back towards the restaurant OUTSIDE. He'd just left I guess? Honestly, I've never been so fired up about a dining experience. Ruined our Mother's Day, and we will...

Disappointing šŸ˜• (2.5/5 āļø) My usual Thai restaurant is temporarily closed so I decided to check this place out because it was only a 5min bus ride away. Ordered Chicken Pad Thai with extra chicken and a small side of Satay sauce, asked for 3.5/5 for spice because I read another review saying it wasn’t very spicy and the restaurant replied they usually prepare dishes at a 2/5 for spice unless specified. I picked my order up at the time they said it would be ready and ate some immediately when I got outside and was waiting for my bus. It was very hot so it couldn’t have been sitting there long but the noodles were soggy, which was a real let down, and it was also the sweetest Pad Thai I’d ever had, for a minute I’d wondered if they gave me the wrong dish. Nothing green in it at all, though there’s not a lot of veggies mentioned in the description so I guess that’s just how they do it here, and also INCREDIBLY mild, like not even a 1/5 for spice. I understand that everyone has a different idea of spicy but this was so mild it was to the point that I wonder if they misunderstood what I’d asked for. Large portion size, as I would hope for the cost, and it wasn’t exactly a bad dish, though not what I expect when I order Pad Thai. I’d be willing to try them again while my usual place is closed with the hope that something just went wrong that night, but if my second order comes out the same as the first I’ll have to just switch to Korean/Japanese/Chinese while I wait for my usual place to reopen. Restaurant was clean and attractive,...

The lousiest thai restaurant I've ever been. Food and services are bad. Waited an hour for food to come out and it was a huge disappointment. I told the only server working there about the food experience. She is aware that the coconut rice was cooked with too much coconut milk and it is mushy. So my question is, if you know the food has a problem, then why do you continue serving it to your customer??? This doesn't make sense at all!!! Telling your customer that people don't order massaman curry with coconut rice is also rude & uncalled for. You know the coconut rice is not done correctly and yet you blame your customer order? The Pad thai noodle - mushy, overcooked, soggy. Missing the chopped peanuts on top. Massaman curry - meh, too sweet to my liking. Coconut rice - mushy Understaffed kitchen with 1 server taking tons of online orders & customers dining in are a recipe for a disaster. The only saving grace for this place is the thai ice tea. Definitely will not come back

Stopped by this Thai restaurant in New Westminster and the bill came to $96 for spring rolls, Tom Yum soup, Pad Thai, garlic stir fry, and a bowl of rice. When we arrived, there were only two other tables with people, but we still waited a few minutes before anyone came over. The decor is friendly and casual, giving off a welcoming vibe. Food-wise, it was a mixed experience. The Pad Thai tasted more like something you’d find at a food court — it lacked that smoky, charred flavour that really brings the dish to life. On the other hand, the Tom Yum soup was quite enjoyable with a good balance of tang and spice. The spring rolls were decent and came beautifully plated with two intricately carved carrots and a few leaves of lettuce. Nice touch on presentation. The garlic stir fry was average, and the coconut rice didn’t carry that rich aroma you’d expect — especially when compared to the Thai place on Sixth and Carnarvon. Not a bad spot - just not my friend choice.

We randomly stumbled across this restaurant, and I'm glad we tried it out. We were greeted by the owner and promptly served with menus and water. The menu is relatively small but packs in the main dishes you're seeking for within Thai cuisine staples. I've dined at many Thai restaurants and am always quietly impressed when Tom Yum is done well and has a good balance of sweet, sour and heat! The spiciness is accurate, so go easy when selecting how hot (spicy) you like your dishes. Thai iced tea and coffee are always a must, and now that mangoes are back in season, the sticky rice dessert with mango is my favorite go-to. Thank you for the excellent service and great conversation, Teg. Will definitely be back to try out the massaman curry!
