McDonald's — Restaurant in Brooks

This MacDonalds was incredible. First off the food was fresh, delicious aesthetically pleasing, and perfect to our many specifications and special requests.

Additionally, Upon arrival we were greeted by a young man mopping the floor, he was friendly and referred to me as ma’am. Secondly the woman taking our order was in training and the manager was overseeing her inputting the order with great patience and kindness towards her, later when grabbing my fountain drink I overheard him encouraging her and ensuring she understood his instructions he also offering to go over anything she still felt uncertain about. Great teaching skills. As a manager of multiple retail stores, of my own I was very impressed.

THEN we waited for food in the play place area (we were travelling home from Winnipeg to Calgary with our 6 year old and she needed some play time after 10 or so hours in the car)

The woman “Ameena” who brought out our food actually took the time to wipe the table down where we were seated before placing our food. It was unexpected thoughtful service.

Finally, the young man… (I wish I got his name) who was still mopping when we were leaving said goodbye to us. I asked him if we could take a colouring sheet and crayons that I saw on the high chairs as we still have a few hours in the car, he immediately rushed to grab one and hand it to us with a smile on his face, and as we walked to the car happily he ran out behind us and brought up a third crayon and a second sheet since we said we were driving a long distance! What amazing service for a macdonalds! I was blown away!!! Thankyou to your entire team you all brought us so much joy today. I would hire everyone in there 10x over!

Extra comment for bonus points the young man also made sure to compliment my husbands new car which absolutely made his day!!

We dined here around 7:30 pm on Wednesday...

We keep having a bad track record with the one in Brooks. An order for two people should be easy enough to assemble correctly and be delivered at the second window.

The coffee is good if Tim’s doesn’t work for you.

On our last visit we repeated our order of two breakfast sandwiches twice to two different staff members. They didn’t listen to correct the order and handed us the wrong food. If you are going to ask for clarification, please do something to correct the issue.

On a previous visit, we ordered bagel belt meals and needed to wait as they did not have a batch of hashbrowns ready. While waiting in the overflow for a long while, a staffer came out to let us know they were out of multi grain bagels as well. They left for 5 min and came back with the right order & some apology apple pies. So a good job, all things considered.

On a previous visit, an employee came to our vehicle with the wrong order, and then came back & lied to us about what they were delivering just so they wouldn't have to walk back in again get the right coffee. The drive through also backed up with people waiting to park as all of the waiting...

Mc Donalds is such a disappointment from how it used to be years ago. I paid a fortune for a chicken burger that was processed. It was not chicken best but a mixture of chicken parts like the mc chicken used to be. For that kind of money, I EXPECTED IT TO BE CHICKEN BREAST. It was terrible. It's hit-and-miss with Mc, Donald's.

In 1986 my first job was Mc Donalds'. Back then if you can work there you can work anywhere. There was a good system. You would never see someone standing around. You would get fired. (After signing your file 3 times). That could be for not wearing a name tag, being late, or many different things. McDonald's since has gone downhill, and its popularity has sizzled. It is not the same. I don't even know if children have birthday parties anymore their anymore.

What gets me, is getting Mc Donalds in -30 weather and they don't even fold the bad to keep the heat in. If we did not fold the bag properly we would have to sign our file. They taught young people how to work. I only go because my...
