I had the worst service I have ever had at any restaurant, the waitress was very, very unprofessional to say the least. Everyone was gone and we were one of the last people left and we had to wait for 45 minutes to be served our dessert which was part of the a la carte menu, so we didn't even have to order it and were waiting for no reason. The waitress passed by our table multiple times, just ignoring us each time and served everyone else besides us. Eventually after waiting 45 minutes, I had to flag down another person (seemed to be the manager) and with no apologies for the wait, he called the waitress to get the dessert which had been sitting there the whole time (at that point, we noticed it was already ready and sitting on a counter for 45 minutes instead of having been served to us). I was super disappointed in the service, I expect a lot better service for this calibre of restaurant and in fact from any restaurant. The service was so awful that for the first time in my life, I did not even want to leave a tip but I did anyway, even though the waitress really did not deserve it. I was recommended this restaurant for its good service however after my terrible and unprofessional experience with the waitress, I will not recommend Tomate Blanche to anyone. I was hopeful that some kind of action would have been taken as I wrote to the restaurant because I couldn't believe what awful service this was, so that other customers don't go through this same bad experience as I did. At least an acknowledgment from the restaurant that they received my email about this matter but after 2 weeks, I have heard nothing back. I usually do not write these types of emails but really felt it necessary to do so in this case. Extremely disappointing experience, this incompetent waitress totally ruined our evening. Besides bad service in house they also have bad customer service. Extremely disappointing and the food wasn't that great either for the price especially. Mediocre American-Italian food at an exaggerated price, it's not even authentic. Save your money and time. Avoid...
Read moreI came here with a group of friends for my birthday dinner on a Friday night under the assumption that we would have great food and service and boy, was I wrong! I regret spending my special day at this place due to many reasons: our waiter took 40 minutes to take our order (which we had to flag down twice to take our order) and when I asked for more bread, it took him an additonal 10 minutes to bring it to our table (not including the other 40 minutes of waiting). I ordered the grilled octopus and it was by far disgusting and you only get 2 small pieces with tons of tzaziki sauce and couscous for $25, the burata pizza was so bland and tasteless for $35, the key lime pie isn't actually a pie rather a cheesecake that tasted like it came straight from the freezer and finally, a cup of coffee which my waiter didn't even ask if we wanted milk or cream so, I had to chase him for some milk which he seemed annoyed by us. The majority of the guests eating were francophone which I also notice they were served before my table and were also treated with better service. To make things worst, I had stomach cramps right after dinner for 13 hours straight. No, I do not recommend this place as it isn't actual "Italian" food and also getting food poisoning. There are plenty other actual authentic Italian restaurants I've been to which I'll stick to on my next outing with...
Read moreA restaurant must not only be rated in terms of food quality and taste, but also the service while dining and especially afterwards. I went her for mothers day and although it started out well, once we got the desert, we were basically forgotten, no coffee or tea offered even though it was included in the set table d'hote. after several attempts in getting noticed (read 15 minutes) we finally get the waitress to come. No apologies for the oversight and on top of that, only offering excuses: we are changing to the second service of the day and we havent had a break. ... hmmm... not my problem. talk to your boss. To top it off, I was charged an extra $10 for my choice of meal as it was an extra apparently for 5 cm of lobster... hmm... again not impressed as the menu clearly stated the firm set price for the table dhote and no where did it mention the extra. No one mentioned it either when i ordered it. Cherry on the cake: I wrote to them (very politely) stating the facts and asking for a response.. guess what? no response. this is not how you address an unsatisfied customer. I didnt want to write this review until I got their explanation but since they decided to ignore me, here is my 2 stars! and...
