Café Van Houtte — Restaurant in Brossard

Cute little coffee shop in the shopping area. This was our first time trying them and I have to say it was a good experience overall. We are visitors from the US and lady behind the counter was very friendly and properly explained to us how everything worked. She took our bagel orders as described which was nice. The coffees which had a choice of 4-5 different types are already brewed in big flasks. The bagel tasted somewhat generic and I expected something slightly better. The price is on the higher end. What I didn’t know is that they charge an extra $0.75-$0.80 cents more for a togo cup which wasn’t mentioned (maybe a Canadian thing). Overall a bit pricey. This is one of my favorite cafés. It's a nice place to get some work done or do some reading with a nice cup of coffee. They also have sandwiches, wraps and different pastries. There are many kinds of fruit drinks as well. The food is good and the service is always friendly. The coffee is on the softer side. I find it very pleasant and better than other more popular brands. They also have free WiFi with very good speeds. It's also a great place to go for a patio in the summer and it's very well located with many stores around and plenty of underground...

The veggie sandwich and veggie paté were delicious!!! The chickpea salad is so tasty too. Love their plain croissants and their hot chocolates. Overall, I have to say that their food is way better than Starbucks!!! Coming from Toronto, I wish we had Van Houtte there too, instead of Tim Hortons or Starbucks. I have to add that the cashier and the young server/barista there are super nice and welcoming! They went above and beyond their tasks to provide quick and efficient service to our group of 13 people!...
