Wow! Pacini. This was an Old classic when I was growing up and this place brought back so many fond memories. Fast forward several decades later and things have certainly changed. I took my family here thinking i would introduce Pacini to a new generation. Well let me start by saying never again, the food was mediocre , the price per dish is ridiculous ( then again all restaurants think they are 5 star worthy) my kids have gluten intolerance, so I was pleased to see that they actually had several options, however they charge out the wazoo for replacements. Word of advice you should have the same pricing for a substitue, 5$ on 1 item ,2$ on another etc. Having revamped my entire pantry to my kids intolerance needs. I know the cost and It’s almost like they just added additional cost here and there just to take advantage of those with dietary requirement. The service was really the only thing that was worth the $$. If you are a senior and don’t really cook and are not picky. Then this is the place for you. If you are a family with or without allergies or intolerance. don’t waste your time and money. I am sure you make better pasta and pizza at home and for a fraction of the cost. The reality is that food quality is so poor these days in restaurants that even the simple classics are a miss. Pacini! I give you props for trying to advance with the times, but you’re pricing yourself out of the market with food that isn’t worth the cost. I expected more and sadly got way less. But the bill was not a reflections of that let me tell you!
In the end , this is another validation that the hospitality industry needs to change and get back to quality at all levels. Pacini is...
Read moreI was pleasantly surprised when I visited this restaurant. Immediately, I was struck by the beautiful, modern decor/ambiance, something I didn't remember from my prior Pacini visit, roughly 10 years ago in another city. Ultimately, I had the goat cheese pizza with cream of broccoli soup, coffee, and the mug cake desert. Out of the whole meal and night, the ONLY negative thing I can say is that the mug cake dessert was a bit dry. I still ate it all, and appreciated its dark chocolate tones (so I'd give it something like 3.5 to 4 on 5 by itself). Every single other thing was excellent, NOTHING negative can be said. I cannot emphasize this enough. The presentation, ambiance, taste, quality of food, quantity of food for the price, service (hat tip to Melissa), decor, all were excellent. I do not give 5 star ratings easily, I tend to be critical and signal a room for improvement. But even with the mug cake "issue", which was minor, this particular Pacini easily secured a full 5 on 5 rating. I was so pleased with the overall experience, actually, that I found myself more relaxed than usual throughout the meal, despite that I was going through a particularly stressful time in my life. In essence, the meal transcended its base culinary purpose, and provided a clear psychological boost. Greatly...
