Update: Unfortunately, since the new owner, this place has gone to the dogs. They are cheap about portion sizes - even for the garlic and hummus - and quality control just isn't there (overcooked, dry, often burnt meat). So very, very sad to see place that was a weekly staple go down the drain like this. Tried 3 times, just to give the new owner the benefit of the doubt, but waa sorely disappointed thrice. Will never go back.
Original review 5☆: This is, by far, the best place anywhere in Montreal for Lebanese food. The crisp falafels are made fresh as soon as you order (to DIE for!). The succulent, flame-roasted beef and chicken are delicately spiced and utterly delicious (I always order a combo plate because I can never make up my mind which one I want more!). The salads are innovative and super fresh - if you don't come early, they'll be sold out! For a delicious change, try their mouthwatering filet mignon brochette plate...SO good. And once you try their garlic potatoes, you will never go back to french fries; just their fragrance will have you drooling and once you dip the hot golden bite into the cool, creamy garlic sauce, you'll think you've died and gone to heaven. Also, the portions are very generous.
The service is very friendly and you'll feel like you're visiting family, so even though they deliver, it's worth coming in yourself. The restaurant itself is bright and spotless. And you'll be sure you're at the right place when you enter, because everyone eating there or leaving with takeout will be beaming from ear to ear. An experience...
Read moreExcellent food, choices and staff! 😀 I often go there to have my favorite shish taouk pita with extra pickled turnip, also the various choices of salads are fresh and flavorful. The potatoes especially with the garlic sauce (toum) are delicious!😋 After reading some of the bad reviews, that I concluded were fake because I am a repeat customer, I find it despicable and appalling that competitors would stoop so low as to try and damage the reputation of another local business. Shame on you for that! 😒 Firstly, the staff follow the covid19 protocol for wearing masks or visors, washing hands and the place is always super clean....as for gloves... please people this isn't subway they are serving hot food. I prefer not to have melted plastic in the food or worse on the staffs hands or ladels.😄 Secondly, I am fluent in French and English and I have been served in both languages with no problems. This restaurant has stayed open thoughout the Covid crisis that is a pretty incredible feat itself! It takes a courage, a lot of hard work and a great deal of risk to do that, even more reason to support this local restaurant, who stayed open and risked it for their...
Read more*Update: New owner apparently, and it's not hard to believe because it sucks now. Portions got smaller, chicken was too browned and I had to discard a third of it. It was also so incredibly dry that it wasn't even good with the hummus and garlic sauce. Which also brings up the point that they give about a tablespoon each of hummus and garlic sauce. They don't answer the phone, and the employees seemed to be unhappy with their jobs as there was no friendly demeanor to the service. At least the salads were tasty 😐. Won't be going back because there are other very good Lebanese restaurants around.
*Old: Good food and very friendly staff. The restaurant is spotless. The couscous dish should be a little less couscous and a bit more bouillon with vegetables... so just make...
