Restaurant was less than half empty. Maybe 15 tables. Counted 6+ front staff in the restaurant. Yet it took 20 min after being seated before anyone came to our table to see if we had ordered yet. During this time I tried to make eye contact or waive at some staff but they seemed very deliberate to avoid us. Happily chatting with each other, going about cleaning empty tables. Not sure why that was a priority since there was no line up. Finally our waitress, the only person who seemed to be actually working and busy, comes along, very pleasant and apologetic for the delay, takes our orders for drinks and promised to be right back for our order.
Got coffee and juice for the kids and another 15 min goes by before I finally snapped and asked a random waitress if we could finally order only to be told she would get my waitress.
Another 5 min passes. I guess she can't find our waitress so comes back and takes our order at 12:04. I started documenting times at this point because it wasn't looking good. Kids wanted just to leave and never come back because they were so hungry. Since we ordered I suggested we stay.
12:08 my waitress comes back to ask me clarification on how to cook the eggs.
12:13 my waitress comes back again ask how many eggs and what kind of bread. We are now almost 50 minutes from the time we walked and I'm still being asked how many eggs? I should mention we were only 3 and ordered 3 very standard dishes. How many eggs, how to cook them and what kind of bread should be basic questions.
At least the food came quickly after that initial ordeal.
My "signature" casserole was decent. My 2 kids had a classic breakfast which was pretty standard and the Choco Banana pancake. The pancake was super thin and only a few pieces of banana. I guess in English it reads pancake but the French says crêpe, and this was definitely a crepe. Luckily my sons breakfast was big enough for him so daughter had some of his toast too. My daughter doesn't eat much but this is the only restaurant meal ever where she finished her meal and was still hungry.
Overall food was ok despite the crepe portion being too small but the overall wait time and seemingly uncareing or clueless staff will kill this restaurant. I dont understand how come our waitress seemed to be one of the few people hustling to get people what they need , unsuccessfully, while others just roam the place leisurely chatting and picking up empty tables.
I've been a patron of Mikes for many years through its transformation back to when it was just place for Subs through its attempts to upscale. Some sites are fantastic and some need a lot of work. I'm not sure if today was just a bad day but judging from the other reviews I dont think so. I saw some guy who was probably a manager or something but be spent most of the time huddled in the office.
I doubt I'll be back to this specific restaurant unless I see drastically different reviews. My kids already have it in their minds Mikes = super slow service.
My advice for this restaurant, get out in front and sort out your service staff. Get them some training or something. Maybe make someone dining room supervisor to properly direct service or distribution of new clients. Make staff work together and help each other, which really means helping the restaurant. Otherwise not only will this restaurant fail but it will also...

We were looking forward to a good dinner on a quiet Thursday night, but we were greatly disappointed. The service was very slow, even though there restaurant was nearly empty. The bruschetta roll appetizer arrived burnt. The carbonara was inedible; overly spicy, the wrong sauce was used, and the bacon was burnt. The spaghetti was also inedible; the sauce was flavourless, no matter how much parmesan, salt or pepper I added and the noodles stuck together and were undercooked (and I prefer al-dente).
When we pointed it out to our waitress, we were informed that there was no manager on duty, so there was nothing she could do to fix it and we ended up having to pay for a meal we didn't eat.
We will never return to this restaurant and I highly recommend that you dine elsewhere.
