We went for lunch. Made a reservation through FB but turns out it wasn't needed as they weren't that busy based on the time we went (1pm). They do have plenty of seating so it would need to be quite busy for them to be out of seating. They were quick to respond on FB as they currently aren't taking reservations through libroreserve at the moment. Went for the lunch deal which was all you can eat $27.99 for adults. The menu is different than evening as tends to be the case for AYCE places. As usual, any drinks except water are not included in the AYCE price. You order through your phone via an app by scanning their barcode. Either a human or their robot server will bring your order. All our orders were accurately brought to us. Miso soup was a bit too watered down, no miso flavor. Salmon sashimi was decent sized slices and fresh. Their bbq grills have a piece of grill paper over it to facilitate ease of changing to a new one. The grill has vents built into it so there wasn't bbq smell lingering on our clothes even afterwards. It does take a bit for the grill to heat up but not a big deal as we ate other things while we waited. The first serving I got of popcorn chicken was cold and hard to eat as the meat was dry and the outside coating was too thick. Service was good though because I had mentioned this when the server asked about the small dish that wasn't quite finished. She actually brought me a new plate that was freshly made. I think they could tweak the recipe a bit. Flour coating is too hard but the new plate was freshly made and the chicken inside was juicy. The selection of available handrolls, rolls, and sushi were decent for lunch selection. Dessert is a selection of a few different ice creams in which green tea and red bean are included as well as the...
Read more⚠️ WARNING: Life-threatening food hazard and dishonest management — avoid this restaurant at all costs. ⚠️
I recommended this restaurant to my sister and her two friends, and what happened was beyond unacceptable — it was dangerous. My sister nearly choked to death on a big piece of plastic hidden in her sushi. This wasn’t a small slip-up — it was a serious health hazard that could have sent her to the hospital or worse.
After this frightening incident, they completely lost their appetite and their trust in the restaurant’s food handling. They stopped eating immediately, barely touched anything, and yet were still charged a shocking $85.
And the way management handled it made everything worse. At first, the manager tried to brush it off by offering only 15% off, pretending it was just a “misunderstanding.” After my sister and her friends complained, he reluctantly went up to 50% — but only by pressuring them into taking it rather than doing the obvious right thing: refunding the meal in full.
I personally spoke with the manager afterwards, and his attitude was even more insulting. He showed no respect for the seriousness of the situation, refused to admit any fault, and acted as if the partial discount was more than enough. There was zero accountability, zero apology, and zero care for the fact that my sister’s health was put at risk in his restaurant.
Food safety is non-negotiable. When a restaurant serves food with a life-threatening hazard inside and then tries to downplay it instead of taking responsibility, that is both reckless and dishonest.
I regret ever recommending this place. For the sake of your health and safety, and to avoid being disrespected the way my sister was, do not go here....
Read moreEDITED to elaborate:
Food: BBQ itself was ok and came on time, but there wasn't a lot of variety (no Lamb, or better cuts of meat for the price we were paying). The ribs were just straight up chewy. Sides like ginger and Kimchi were good, but things like sauces were hard to separate since we couldn't find a waiter available to get a spoon. Takoyaki was as bad as last time I ate here, all starch no octopus. Similarly, the fried scallops tasted like fried starch instead. Sushi side of things the food was ok, except our side of the table never got our Sashimi.
Service: Orders from other tables kept ending up on our table either from the robot or the waiters. We didn't want to pay extra for food we didn't order and it happened at least 3 times with BBQ meat, sushi and so on. Our table ended up ordering a lot of Sashimi, but we only ended getting 1/2 of what we ordered at most. This is a universal thing with busy all-you-can-eat restaurants though, so I can't say this place is worse. For the most part they were responsive getting more napkins + forks, refilling our water pitchers, cleaning the table, and helping us return food (see first bullet in services), getting the icecream orders right. So perhaps I was too harsh in my evaluation in this section, so I bumped it up by a star.
Atmosphere: The aesthetics of the place looks pretty rundown with the rubber flooring, and gray tables. I wouldn't have minded how the place looked if the food was good. I don't know about the male bathroom situation, but the female bathroom had a stall with a clogging situation. I appreciated the electric paper towel dispenser though. Cat robot was a...
