I’m not exactly sure where to start with this review. I’ll acknowledge first that this morning when we dined at Benedict Eatery the restaurant was very full and the staff were clearly flustered. We waited only a short moment for a table outside and had our drink orders taken promptly. My partner ordered a vanilla café latte and orange juice and I ordered just a coffee. My partner’s drinks arrived quite quickly, however, my coffee did not arrive and was only received once I reminded one one of the servers I had ordered one. My partner’s latte was just about warm, leaning towards room temp. I had a feeling at that point that we may be in for a less than stellar experience at this restaurant. My partner ordered a classic eggs Benedict and I the regular breakfast. The food came out in good time but was beyond disappointing. On both of our plates, the almost-cold potatoes looked like they had been hastily boiled and thrown in a pan for a quick and unsuccessful attempt at getting a bit of colour on them. Worse than this, several of our potato pieces were completely raw - crunchy raw. The rest were undercooked and completing unenjoyable. Both of our eggs (over-easy and poached) were cooked inconsistently and were again, barely warm. Perhaps the most laughable part of this experience was the side order of tomato. To be fair, I did not specify with my server, but I suppose I would expect $2 worth of side tomato to be either pan fried or at least fresh and seasoned. What I got instead was four thin slices of an underripe tomato that had zero flavour. Quite a shame considering the availability of beautiful Ontario tomatoes right now. I understand that restaurants can get busy and it can be difficult to meet the demand, but I would much rather wait a little bit longer and have food that is of at least a decent quality than have food that leaves me incredibly disappointed and feeling like I just waisted my money. Worse yet, there was not a single quality check from any of the staff nor our server throughout our entire experience, not even when our plates were cleared with nearly half of the the food still on them. Perhaps we came on an off day, perhaps the restaurant is short staffed in the front and back of house, but it’s hard to imagine coming back and spending any amount of money at this...

Read moreI have never left a review before but I thought this is worth noting. We arrived for breakfast after calling ahead to ensure they were able to take a walk in table for two. We are more than patient and happy to support local businesses at any chance! After arriving we stood in the entrance waiting for a table. Several tables became available yet we were not seated. It seems like they were going out of their way to not seat us as we were only two people. After a lengthy wait the waiters started seating other people who had just arrived without a reservation as they were a table for 3. He told us we would still need to wait until tables became available. We were very disheartened at the way we were treated. I don’t know that they have ever owned a restaurant which leads me to think they should be taking management courses to ensure they don’t make their customers feel like this again. We are foodies in the area and would have loved to call this our new breakfast spot. We left after 25 minutes not being seated while we watched several other walk in costumers be seated within minutes. The waiter actually followed us out the door and asked us if he could take our name when a table for us was available because seating a party of 3 was more important than the table of 2 that had been waiting for over 20 minutes. I’ve never been so insulted. We will not be...
