Bims Kusina — Restaurant in Burlington

Ok so first things first the food here is on point. I went with my kids late last week for dinner. We ordered the 5 beef tacos and 3 chicken Empanadas. I loved everything, my kids also like the Tacos but thought the Empanadas were a little sweet (its a valid critique).

Second service, its on point as well. Both the gentleman we talked to were friendly suggested options and made a point to come up and thank us for coming in. Both looked me dead in the eye and thanked me for the business. They weren't trying to over serve in a creepy way but instead simply seemed genuinely grateful that we came in.

The atmosphere... To be 100% honest at first I was a little shook and was thinking about giving them a lower score here...The space looks like they should be changing the oil of your car not serving you the best tacos you ever eaten. Its a large industrial space, cinder block walls a cook station, prep station and freezer all within plan site powered by two dedicated solders slinging tasty food. But this is what makes this place great IMO. No need for fancy lighting, granit counter tops and leather seats. The focus is solely on the food. The order was taken over some 90's hip hop and R&B playing over the speakers. The same guy that took our order walked back into the space said a couple words plus gave a quick head nod to his colleague and they both got to work and quick. We got a "Are onions and cilantro ok on the tacos!?!" followed by a "have a seat!" shouted from the back (the only 3 seats in the place, were taken by us) and 10 mins later ... wham, some killer tacos and some potentially too sweet empanadas. The hype is real. Go here. If your in Hamilton/Burlington and what a change from places like the Mule Bims is it. If your a foodie looking to go for a drive to an actual unique location with killer food, its worth the gas money. I will...

Price of food is 20 for three tacos. 12.99 for the halo halo.

I’m all for supporting local places but there’s nothing to say here. We walked in, the price should be 32.99 plus tax, I gave 5 dollar in cash and total still came out to 37~. The cashier said no that’s the right price. Sat down and nope, she never took the 5 dollars off. So I went back up and showed her my calculator and she never took it off. She said “oh here’s your 5 bucks back”. Simple acknowledge of you being wrong and sorry would suffice. We also tipped 15% on this lmao. The halo halo is pretty bad, it’s made from vegan ice cream or it’s old, because there’s ice all over the ice cream indicating it’s old ice cream.

All in all, I’m good bro and please work on the interior, looks like an abandoned construction zone when it’s been opened for 2-3...

Hands down the best Taco’s out there!! Just got food from here this evening for the first time and more than pleased with my purchase. The girl who took my order was very kind and informative. I went with the 5 tacos and they were absolutely delicious. The shells had the perfect crisp and they were light on the stomach. The meat was flavourful, everything was fresh and the sauce they provide to dip the tacos into was fantastic. I would certainly recommend anyone looking for quality tacos to check...
