China Taste — Restaurant in Burlington

I'm only adding my comments because I was so mad when the delivery guy left that I said I was going to. I have calmed down a bit now but lol...wow! Perfectly kind gentleman delivered our meal. A minute later knocked on our door again and said (in broken english) that he'd given us the wrong order. First of all, it looked exactly like what we'd ordered. Secondly, it was already on our plates at this point and some of us were eating it. The delivery man followed my husband into our house (uninvited) to retrieve the order. When he saw that it was on our plates already, he began to pick up items off our plates and put them back in the take out containers with his hands. This is when I got upset. I told him that the order was in fact correct, that he was wrong, and to please stop touching the food. He didn't seem to understand. After he had put items back into containers with his hands, I asked if he planned to give this to his next customer after just touching it all now. He clearly didn't understand but said "sorry, sorry." After much trying to make him understand he couldn't just pick things up and give them to someone else and that the order was correct and him not understanding, I asked him to leave. I am sorry to whoever receive this meal next and wish right now that I had some way of calling you to tell you what has happened. We all feel a little sick presently, and won't be ordering from China...

Previously we ordered takeout from here often, but changed to a closer takeout when the food seemed to be merging flavours across dishes and much of it tasted the same. Decided to order again tonight, ordered quite a few dishes (probably 3 meals worth) and took a chance that they had improved. We were pleasantly surprised. As usual, they were ready fast, accurate order (they read it back to confirm), packaging is done well, clean, and staff seem friendly. We both reviewed each dish carefully for taste, spice and distribution of ingredients. Every dish was very good, looked very fresh, and had the level of spice appropriate to the dish. Great result tonight Looking forward to enjoying the rest tomorrow. As a takeout, it is probably a 5 star, but the prices have risen a fair bit. Still good value, especially the 10% off for cash payment. I would have made it 5 stars, but they forgot to include the fortune cookies this time. Since it was my birthday today, we were looking forward to that simple gimic of reading our fortunes, but alas,...

1 Star – Rude, Unprofessional, and Completely Disrespectful

I ordered General Tso’s Chicken with rice from China Taste, and what I received was a wet, sloppy container of chicken chow mein — totally wrong. Mistakes happen, so I called the restaurant directly, expecting a simple fix.

Instead, I was called a liar, argued with for five minutes, and yelled at by the person on the phone, who told me he “didn’t care” that my order was incorrect. When I calmly asked to speak to a manager, they hung up on me.

This wasn’t a misunderstanding — this was an outright refusal to take responsibility and a shocking lack of basic customer service. If this is how they treat paying customers, they don’t deserve your business.

Avoid China Taste at all costs. You’re better off supporting a restaurant that values its customers and treats people...
