My husband ordered a cake for $24 from dspot online order. Only to realize that it was the price a single slice of cake.. he immediately tried to cancel it. It wasn’t allowing him to cancel it online so he called the store. DSpot immediately started playing blame game with DoorDash.. accusing them of system error. Even though it wasn’t a DoorDash order my husband called to enquire and they said they didn’t receive any order under his name. He reached out to dspot again to mention that it was on dspot website and they said they can’t cancel an order. I believe they became greedy for $24 as they were constantly denying that he placed order on their website while he has proof that it was dspot website. He finally went today to the store and enquired at the front. The employee said they can’t refund as their system won’t allow. He demanded to speak to manager.. the front desk girl went inside and came and said manager mentioned the same thing they can’t cancel the order and refund when my husband demanded to see the manager the girl literally dismissed him off saying the manager is busy and can’t talk. I was livid. This is then first time we felt badly treated and we never expected this from dspot as we have been frequenting this establishment for over 6 years now.. this was such a mismanagement of the issue. You need to train your staff in basic customer service. Attached pic of the email confirms that the order was originally made on their own website. And SMS confirmation. No where doordash is mentioned. I don’t understand how come a company doesn’t have a cancellation policy for an online order that too for a slice of cake!!! It’s not even a whole cake... This has left us with a bad taste.. no more dspot. We will take our business elsewhere. HIGHLY DISAPPOINTED!!

My wife and I decided to try D Spot for dessert after dinner at home, and it was our first time visiting. She ordered the “Create Your Own” funnel fries with Smarties, toffee bits, white chocolate shavings, caramel, and strawberry sauce. The fries were perfectly crispy and flavorful, and the sauces—especially the strawberry—were outstanding, adding a rich, sweet depth that really elevated the dish. The toppings were fine, though they didn’t contribute much to the overall taste. At $14.99, the portion was generous and satisfying. I ordered the strawberry banana crepe with Nutella, and it was excellent. The crepe itself was light and delicate, the fruit was fresh and vibrant, and the combination of flavors with the Nutella made it a very enjoyable and well-balanced dessert. This dish was also $14.99 and came in a large portion. The restaurant’s ambience was warm and inviting, with tasteful décor and a welcoming atmosphere. Service was friendly and attentive, which made the experience even better. Overall, this was a fantastic first visit, and we will definitely be returning.

I had popped in to order some dessert to go. This was my first time here, so I was excited to try something new. The menu was extensive, and I was just in need of a grab and go dessert, not anything that would melt. I asked for 2 slices of strawberry shortcake, and was a little aghast at the price of $13.50 a slice. (To buy the whole cake was $80!!) I figured well, it's a dessert place, so hopefully it'll be fantastic quality, and I am doing research for the wedding cake I am making next month, so what the heck? I got it home, and gave it a try. It looked as though they used strawberry preserves in the middle of the cake, and included some sugary drizzle to pour over top. The cake part itself was very dense, and took a while to get the first bite down. It tasted nothing like the strawberry shortcake I grew up with, or expecred to taste. This is definitely not how you make a proper Strawberry shortcake. I didn't finish it, and the rest went in the garbage. A waste of money, and will definitely not be returning.

Overpriced and Poorly Executed Experience

I visited this restaurant last week, and unfortunately, the staff's approach to service is severely compromising both the food quality and overall dining experience.

One of the most disappointing aspects was the way desserts were served. We ordered what were supposed to be premium $20 desserts, but instead of a proper presentation, they arrived in cheap plastic cups with disposable spoons. It felt completely out of place for a dessert that was priced and marketed as something special.

The situation only worsened when we had to practically beg for basic utensils like knives, napkins, and steel forks. We had ordered a dessert that was supposed to be enjoyed in a wrought iron hot steel skillet, but they expected us to eat it with a flimsy plastic spoon. This lack of attention to detail was not only frustrating but also completely ruined the experience of what should have been a highlight of the meal.

To make matters worse, we also ordered a craufel, which was toasted to the point of being nearly inedible. It was so overcooked that it was hard and almost black in color. This further emphasized the lack of care in the food preparation, which is unacceptable, especially considering the high prices. Don't forget that the hard crispy craufel was also served with a plastic spoon.

Also, all desert with the exception of skillet cookie was served in plastic containers, ice cream served in plastic cups and all the shakes were presented in plastic glass which is not how other deserts cafe do it.

When we expressed our concerns to the manager, the response was dismissive, stating that this is an express restaurant. While we understand that, it's crucial for the management to clearly communicate this in their marketing materials. The current pricing and presentation give the impression of a full-service restaurant, but the reality does not match up.

If this is indeed an express restaurant, the pricing should reflect that, and customers should be made aware of what to expect and menu needs to be adjusted accordingly. As it stands, the experience was overpriced, poorly executed, and left us feeling very unsatisfied. I hope the management takes this feedback seriously and makes the necessary...

Unfortunately I will never be returning to this d-spot location. The customer service was terrible, they neither value the customers experience or time. I came in with my friends to try the karak chai and we did not get served. The brewing machine was apparently broken so the representative told us it would take 5 more minutes for our drinks to be prepared after already waiting for 5 minutes. We were patient and waited. After waiting the drinks still were not ready and the cashier did not acknowledge us. We finally got his attention to ask for a refund and he ignored us to address his friend who came in front us in line while speaking with him. He went to the back of the store and came back to give his friend medicine or something in the gloves he was using to serve customers. After asking AGAIN for a refund he asked us to wait for his colleague to void our transactions.

Now his colleague comes and tries to change our minds since the drinks are now "ready" 25 mins after we entered the store. We said no we want a refund and she objected again, now offering to give us the cold drinks and a single additional drink of our choice for free to share🤩!! We tried to advise them in proper customer service where you offer the refund and give them the item anyways as a good gesture for the inconvenience. She was very unbothered by our concerns which we voiced kindly. We asked to speak to the manager when she offered to call them but after we took her up on it she ignored us and didn't call the manager - this was the only reason she decided to process our refunds, a process that took over 10 minutes in itself. Almost 40 minutes waiting to not get anything without any sort of apology. We expressed that we would not be returing to the store ever and she just said "That's fine, thank you". Terrible location - this might be one of my only poor reviews anywhere this spot is trash. She said she was okay with us giving an honest review on google so here we...

After seeing a BOGO offer I decided to give this place a try. The options on the deal were very limited so the 2 of use decided to get the strawberry funnel cake.

The place is very clean and there was one person working. We were the only ones there the whole time.

The funnel cakes didn't take long to make and they were just under $20 each. Even more than Canada's Wonderland. Fortunately we got 2 for the price of one.

They were okay but nothing special. They came with strawberries and a scoop of ice cream. Problem is these things are huge so it's probably best to share them.

The main issue is both of use got very sick shortly after leaving there. It's now almost 12 hours past eating these and we are still both sick. I hate to draw the conclusion that it was the funnel cakes but that's all we ate.

While we were there we noticed how pricey everything was. We could have had a nice lunch together somewhere else for the regular price of 2 funnel cakes.

The other desserts looked great but the prices are way too high for what you get.

Will probably never go back.

Well I am adding to the above review since we decided to go back and try something different. We went back and ordered a chocolate and strawberry milkshake. This was a Sunday afternoon and we were the only ones there.

The one person working almost made me feel like I was putting him out when I ordered

Both of us thought the milkshakes were nothing special. They were more like thick chocolate and strawberry milk. The flavor was not very strong. The whip cream on the top was a nice touch though

There are definitely better milkshakes around town and a much lower price. I would have expected a milkshake that blew me away since it was from a high end dessert place but we were very disappointed.

I'm surprised this place gets so many positive reviews. I'd also be surprised if they were around in a year unless they up their game and lower...
