So for all my food, it was 20 after tax. I ended up waiting about 10 minutes before I ordered, and then 30 min to recieve my food. That at least meant my food was nice and hot, even 5-10 miniutes later once I got it home. The fries have some nice seasoning on them, not quite the "BBQ chip" seasoning some others have mentioned; very much your typical seasoned fry, some crisp to them but not crunch. The tender was nice and, well, tender. Still very juicy with a perfect crisp. I ordered mine 'Medium', and it was a nice dry rub with sauce and some nice kick. I may try the 'Hot' next time I got as I do like spice, but this still left a nice kick in my mouth with a little tingle. The slider for the most part was just a tender on a bun, with some pickles and kale slaw on it. Same experience as the tender though: tender, juicy, nice crisp, decently seasoned. The included 'Dave's Sauce' paired nice with everything, whether it was a dip for the fries and tender, or a sauce on the slider. If I went back, I may just opt for the 2 Tender combo for 16+tx instead, as I don't think the extra $2 for the bun was really worth it, but your mileage may vary. I didn't end up getting the mac and cheese, per everyone else's reviews, but hopefully that will improve in time. All in all, food was easily a 4/5, if not a 5/5. The price compares with most higher end chicken places like Hangry Chicken and is better quality/ value/ taste than something like Mary Brown's, in my opinion, so I'd give that a 4/5 as well. The atmosphere was pretty standard, some nice art on the wall and bright modern interior. There was no super loud music like others have stated, but there also wasn't anywhere really to sit and eat as most seats were taken by people waiting for their food, so a 3/5. Unfortunately, they seem to be working through some opening/ staffing issues as it still takes a VERY long time to get your food. Staff was super friendly, but cook times were long. I had hoped coming for lunch would avoid the dinner rush, but high school students replaced the families lining up for food since there's 3 high schools nearby. Kinda to be expected I guess, 3/5. Definitely recommend you try it for yourself at least once, and maybe my review will improve once they're in full swing!

Dave’s Hot Chicken in Burlington presents a noteworthy concept, garnering interest possibly due to its rumored celebrity connection with Drake as an investor. This backdrop sets high expectations for the eatery, which boasts a modern take on fast-food chicken. During my first encounter with Dave’s, prompted by a colleague's suggestion, I opted for delivery via Uber Eats. The meal arrived with the sandwiches still warm, an appreciable detail that speaks to good packaging and prompt delivery. However, while the chicken boasted a rich array of spices that left a lasting impression due to its robust flavor, the greasiness of the meat was off-putting. It seemed as though a lower-quality canola oil was used, and excessively so, which overwhelmed the otherwise enjoyable taste of the chicken. The pricing strategy at Dave’s is also worth noting. Despite commanding prices on par with full-sized chicken sandwiches elsewhere, Dave’s serves only small sliders. This aspect, along with the greasy preparation, impacts the perceived value, especially when compared to other establishments like Mary Brown’s, known for better quality and sizing at a comparable price point. On a further note, the fries that accompanied the sliders were underwhelming. I found them unremarkable on both occasions I ordered, with no redeeming qualities to note. The consistency of my experiences, having ordered twice, confirms that the issues I encountered were not isolated incidents. Innovation in fast food, as attempted by Dave’s Hot Chicken, is commendable, and the seasoning of the chicken does stand out as a highlight. However, the execution in terms of ingredient quality and cooking method, coupled with the pricing and portion size issues, detracts significantly from the overall experience. While I remain open to revisiting in hopes of improvements, I advise new customers to temper their expectations when trying this establishment for the first time.

I read an article about this new chicken chain coming to the Hamilton area and I just had to try it. It is a small store front location with only seating for about 24 people and there were at least many people standing waiting for their order. It felt cramped, not very COVID-19 friendly. I waited in line for about 5 minutes then waited 25 minutes for 20 orders in front of me to get their orders. Given the line I expected to eat in my car, so I didn't order a drink but I did get a seat while waiting about half way into it as everyone eating when I arrived had left by the time I got my order. When it got to my order there were 20 people in the order line so i didn't bother getting a drink, I didn't end up needing one as the medium I ordered was not spicy, i suggest you get spicier than you normally would order if you want a spicy order. I guess they can improve service by having the number of the order currently servicing and estimated time between order and getting food so could have known it would take that long so I could have come back. The food was about average, I liked the fries the best as they were well seasoned. I liked the slider better than the chicken piece because it fit better as chicken meant for a sandwich as their chicken meat to breading ratio was kind of high which my kids would not enjoy, they love KFC popcorn chicken. The chicken was a real unprocessed piece of chicken which was nice, but i expected that given the high price per piece . The tender is something I would eat with a knife and fork which they provide along with a side of pickles and sauce (it reminds me of Mac sauce). The chicken is very dry as the tenders only have a dry rub on it so it needs a sauce. Would I go back alone given the 25-30 drive from Hamilton and the long wait for food, probably not, unless someone wanted to try it and asked me to go with them.

Ive had dave’s chicken out in downtown several times, but i will not return to this location ever again. I ordered two meals, a combo 2 (reaper) and a combo 3 (medium spice) and i think i should start with the service before i even get to the food… When i was making my order i asked for the reaper burgers for myself and when he asked me if it was for me and i told him yes he persisted in saying that i wouldn’t be able to handle it. when i thanked him for his concern and that i’ve been to your locations before his words were ‘it doesn’t matter and your people can’t handle this’, when i heard this i was a little taken back by what he said, so i said ‘im sorry, but you shouldn’t judge a book by its cover, and asked what kind of pepper do you use for the chicken’. he said he didn’t know the pepper (which is in the name) and i said again ‘how are you going to judge a book by its cover when you’ve never met me and you don’t know me’ his persistence led me to ask him to bring me a bit of the sauce so i can try it, instead he brought me a chicken nugget so i took a bite told him it was fine and asked him to please make my sandwiches now because i was become upset and about to leave. Now comes to the actual food, which i’m extremely disappointed in…. the medium spice chicken burger had 0 spice at all on the sandwich and only a little bit of spice on the extra piece of chicken…. Then the reaper burger, one sandwich was perfect and the other one was nothing like i’ve ever eaten at any dave’s hot chicken before. i know for a fact that something extra was added to one of the burgers because i made three people taste test each one. this is sad and extremely unprofessional. there should be no reason why if i order the spiciest thing on the menu, and said i’ve had it before, should i have two separate spice levels in one pack. one burger fine and as listed for reaper spice, and the other one absolutely unbearable and not even tasting like the other chicken sandwich in the same meal nor did it even taste remotely as spicy as the tester they gave me in the store. i’m extremely disappointed and will not be returning to this place because of their ethical practices and judgmental behavior to customers who state they have already...

Drove from mississauga to try it for the first time. I asked the cashier what kind of pickles were in the sliders (dill or bread and butter). He replied with “cucumber pickles” lol, adorable. But he was nice and got me a sample for me to try despite there being a line behind me and he being the only cashier. Me and my spouse got a combo #2 with one slider being mild and the other being reaper. The cashier then proceeds to argue that the reaper was too hot for me and I wouldn’t like it. I drove from mississauga specifically to try the reaper. I have a verrry high heat tolerance. He still argued with me about it and despite telling him that I only want the reaper he said “okay”. We got a drink and a side of cheese sauce and he hands me the machine. I tap my card and then noticed the charge was for over $50!!!! The cashier Appearently ran the combo twice. He apologized and got the manager Honey who tried to issue a refund. Honey’s customer service was spectacular and he resolved our issue. Our food came out pretty fast in about 4-5 minutes. The sandwiches and the fries were popping hot out of the fryer. Great flavour, wayyyy better then chik fil a. But guess what, despite our argument about ordering the reaper, the cashier still only punched in “extra hot”. I’m more mad about that then the over charge cause I remember as I was eating, as delicious as it was, it wasn’t hot enough for me only to realize a cashier had decided he knew better then me on what I could tolerate. Regardless I’ll be back. And if I don’t get the reaper that will Be the last time I go cause I don’t appreciate being lied to.

Update: I have gone back, the staff at Dave’s Hot Chicken resolved my issue and let me try the reaper!!!! It was easily one of the hottest foods I’ve ever tried but I’m glad I finally got to try it even though the last couple bites were too hot for me to complete. Food: 10/10 staff 10/10. I’m glad I gave them another shot. And no I will not be getting the...
