Was disappointed with my first visit to this location last week. Food was ok, not great, and service/training/organization of staff was noticably bad. When I arrived to place my order in store, it was not too busy inside, 1 table of two were seated and there were 2 people in line. I got in line and asked if they still sell the triple pickle poutine and the cashier had no idea what I was talking about. I figured the promotion had ended, and she just didn't have the knowledge to tell me that. Maybe she just started, I don't know. But she could have asked a coworker for help but she didn't, she kinda just made me feel like an idiot.
Once I placed my order for an Angus burger with cheese and fries I waited for it to be ready. The staff called "Angus burger with cheese" and I looked over to make sure no one else had that order (this responsibility should not be placed on the customer) and no one walked up to the glass so I walked up to the glass and started saying what I wanted on my burger and then another customer started listing off ingredients from further down since I guess we both had the same order. But did we? No! Halfway through her listing of ingredients she said "oh I ordered an original with cheese, sorry!" And then staff had to throw out this burger which was actually for another guy in front of me. What could have prevented this? A simple number system like McDonalds or get EVERY customer's name on the receipt. Once this happened the staff went back up to customers who had already ordered and then wrote names on receipts, but by then it was too late.
Furthermore, another person in line behind me was waiting for a drink. The staff said "your drink is ready" in the most quiet way possible several times. The guy couldn't hear them and at that point I was getting annoyed so I said "I think your drink is ready" and he finally went and got his drink (again, it should not be the responsibility of the customer to get other customer's attention). And again, a simple number or name calling system could have helped in this situation.
I finally get my order and leave. I open my bag with my burger and fries and I clearly got the last scoop of fries in the batch because they were all about 1 inch or smaller bits of fries. And not the long, crispy Harvey's fries I remember. Burger was decent. But their service REALLY has to improve if they want long standing customers. I...
Read moreI called to order a chicken wrap and coffee. I was asked if I wanted white or dark meat, I said I didn’t really care...dark. I was told I could pick up coffee at the restaurant when I picked up the order. I had to pick a side, and was suggested fries, poutine, rice etc, I said poutine. I asked for the total which came to over $16, which surprised me, and I was told the poutine was an extra $1.99. It should not have been in the choices she named without mentioning that difference. I was told my order would be ready in 15 minutes, perfect. When I went to pick up my order, surprise! no coffee was available at all. (I had hoped to take a coffee to my husband in hospital, so no luck here.). I paid, and left, and checked my order at the car...I had something that looked like a burger, it was a Kaiser bun...not a wrap at all! I went back in and they said they’d change it, though the order slip did say kaiser when we both checked it out. Bottom line...I don’t recommend ordering over the phone. The restaurant staff did change the order, but it meant waiting for ten more minutes, but I’m glad I checked things before I drove off. I was also surprised that just a chicken wrap could not be ordered on its own, so I had to pay over $12 for something that would have been $6-8 elsewhere. I’ll be looking forward to dining in sometime in the future. This was not a great takeout...
Read moreWent here on back to back nights on Thursday Nov 15th and Friday Nov 16th, around 9pm both times. My discrepancy is with the young men cooking the burgers. They don’t wear plastic gloves when cooking, and on Thursday I saw him take his germ infested phone out of his pocket, scroll through it, put it back in his pocket, and immediately handle the burger buns. The following night, I saw another cook put his finger in his mouth while biting his nails, and once again immediately handling the bun by putting it in the toaster oven, which was probably more disgusting than the scrolling through the phone issue. Granted, they might have not even noticed what they were doing, I don’t understand why ownership doesn’t make them wear plastic gloves when cooking. At least if they had to remove the gloves when scrolling through their phone or biting their nails, they might realize what they’re doing. I also saw another customer, on Thursday, ask the kid putting the toppings on the burger if he could use new paper they use to wrap the burgers in because the cashier who was trying to help out earlier, came over and handled the paper without using gloves after immediately handling cash. Who even knows if the workers wash their hands after going to...
