Edit: we have supported this business since they opened up. Probably have spent 1500 over time. It got to the point where the lady knew me by first name. We love sushi and it’s our goto takeout food. However I’m utterly disappointed with the last two orders. Each time we ordered at least 3 specialty rolls. We’ve received tiny amounts of ginger, wasabi and soy sauce(3rd of a small container). Worst part is they’ve only provided 1 chop sticks. I called them today after being dissatisfied and the person who answered phone was indifferent. I like their sushi but not going back again. Might be a small thing for some but when we have sushi we want to ensure we have the condiments and chop sticks. Hell I’d gladly pay for it. But if 3 rolls cost 60, the least u can do is provide basic cutlery. If you want sushi in Burlington goto crisp here. They’re consistent and more deserving of the business. I’d give it 0 stars if I could. Keeping my original review to be fair.
Original: I was bit skeptical to try this place. So we only ordered three rolls(~$64). And we were blown away at how good the sushi was. It was perfectly prepared with well balanced and fresh ingredients. We can’t wait to go back. This has become our new fav spot for sushi...
Read moreHad a pretty bad experience here. We came in (party of 2) and ordered 1 roll + about 16-20 pieces of nigiri. We waited about 20 min for the roll and another 30 minutes for the nigiri.
A table of 3 arrived after us, and left before our nigiri was even at the table. Restaurant was not busy - omakase chairs were empty and there are only 3 tables, so not sure why it would take that long.
The wagyu nigiri was overcooked, not sure why the chef decided to sear it so hard, especially since it was about 1mm thick lol. Felt like I was eating ground beef tbh.
The fish was ok - nigiri pieces are on the smaller size.
Ended up paying 200 dollars + tip for this meal. In my opinion, severely overrated. I paid similar prices at Miku in Vancouver and the Otoro they give you is much more substantial (aka not paper thin).
All in all, not an enjoyable experience at all, and there are many other sushi spots that are better, in terms of quality and value.
For 200 dollars I expect a memorable experience and my only memory is how hungry I was throughout the 80 minute ordeal.
Probably better as a...
Read moreThis is our new go to sushi place in Burlington! We’re so excited to finally find such great quality, delicious local sushi place. The fish was fresh and just melts in your mouth. We finished our meal and ordered some more. Good location, clean, excellent service, and friendly staff. Can’t wait to go back to try the omakase course dinner!
Update - August 2024: Since I last wrote my review, I’ve been to this restaurant a couple more times and also had take out several times. It was so good each time, but now that it’s been over a year and I just got my takeout, all I can say is, what happened to this place?!? It was a total disappointment. Rice was dry and crumbly, just broke apart. The fish didn’t taste fresh at all, just all around mediocre. I paid almost $90 for an entree and 2 hand rolls and it tasted no different than any other sushi place for half the price. It was definitely not worth it. I’m not sure I’ll go back unless I know for certain I’ll get the same quality as I did back in the day…...
